I think it's each to their own. I'm early 30s and love the green, think it will look lovely on some Maroon Mk1s. Possibly would have slightly preferred BR Blue but that is well represented elsewhere.
I think with the focus at Mirfield on the slow lines, that the slow lines will be done first and then utilised as the route. With the fast lines then built over the top of them.
Not close enough to the details or the region, but that is certainly what I would expect... I know lots of areas where services finish early/start late especially on weekends to allow patrolling. Which as weekends are now busier would lend to this approach.

The very simple way I explain this to non rail colleagues is, if I get a three hour possession on an electrified line at night, it takes an hour to set up and get isolated, and an hour to do the same in reverse. So that is a one hour working window. But those set up and shut down...
Many inspections cannot be replaced by a drone unfortunately, not a majority but certainly not an insignificant amount. Some even can't be done on nights and need to be done in daylight.

I always note that when you get an engine with a Speedo it feels a lot faster, which indicates that when they don't have Speedos many are the correct side of the 25 limit.
