I’m not sure this is relavent in this thread, the private medical benefit is only for TfL staff as well as certain LU managers. As CSAs are employed on LUL as opposed to TfL contracts they are not eligible for private medical benefit.

That’s an interesting point of view and one I’ve never really considered. I’m minded to agree with you and @jon81uk. Milk in the major supermarkets is now £1.45 for a 2.272l bottle, this is down from the £1.55 charged at the end of last year and is actually cheaper than it was in late 2010, when...
You can find the list of 5 shops on the Wilko website: https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/stores
They are Rotherham, St Albans, Luton, Exeter and Plymouth.
The only other shop that has been announced as reopening, but has not yet opened, is in Poole.
This could be down to the fact that for some years LUL staff didn’t handle cash from ticket machines in public areas. Since the Underground Ticketing System was introduced in the late 1980s, London Underground passenger-operated machines were always serviced from the rear, within either the...
I was thinking that. No mention about how the deadlines and coverage keeps changing. The map is also wrong; Warren St to Kings + on the Victoria line is still only available on o2.
The situation on London Overground would be slightly different to LU, as under the Track Access Agreement with Network Rail there is a methodology for recovery of lost revenue and additional costs such as provision of replacement buses associated with planned engineering work (Schedule 4). This...
I can’t answer your question directly as I try and avoid travelling with Virgin, but on these planes they use the Recaro 3620 slimline in Economy so you may find the dimensions online somewhere.
If you struggle with such space, you may wish to consider booking what Virgin call “Economy...
No, it isn’t just you. I thought the same when he did the “honorary” performance at the first semifinal on Tuesday too, it started off sounding incredibly out of tune.
Haven’t travelled north of Kings + but I’ve still got signal only on O2. On the northbound it comes on for me just as approaching Euston station. Still available on the platform at Kings + (at least at the tailwall) but as soon as you turn onto the lower concourse it stops working.
The message has seemingly now been changed to “emergency engineering works,” despite all day the message having being that the issues are due to a shortage of Trams. The entire Tramway has been suspended since 19.00. The TfL website also advises that when services resume at 06.00 tomorrow this...
The report includes an extract from the LU Rule Book which makes it clear that he did not have to ask permission in an emergency, however he was in the mistaken belief that he did have to ask permission.
The RAIB report into this incident has now been published

What you consider to be a “proper First class” is a relatively new innovation post-privatisation, with prior to that First class on InterCity services typically including tea and coffee and maybe a packet of biscuits/snacks or the odd exception like some wine on a Friday evening train. Food...
I would imagine if the Conservatives do better than the polling suggests there will be questions in the Conservative Party as to how they ended up with such a rubbish candidate.
They don’t usually publish TTNs [Timetable Notices] on that page (some years they publish the Met line leaf fall season).
If nobody else has done so you could ask for it under FoI though. The poster above has given the details of what to ask for.
Does anyone know what the issue with the siding at West Ruislip being taken out of commission is? It’s been closed at least a week now with HS2 saying some kind of “safety audit” is needed. A letter from the council (who have increased the permitted hours of road deliveries) to residents implies...
