New timetables from the 5th June are now online

https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-12/05/2017-13:33:57:055

To reflect feedback received and current operational conditions, we are changing a number of timetables from Monday 5 June.

Further information on these changes can be found below, along with links to the new timetables:

Service X4: Leven – Markinch – Glenrothes

Fife Council are withdrawing this subsidised service but it is mostly replaced by new service X26. Service 46 will be revised to serve Markinch railway station which is not served by the X26.

Service 14: Kirkcaldy – Dunnikier Estate

Revised timetable to accommodate other changes on the network, with most journeys running 10 minutes later than previously. There are no changes to the route or frequency.

Service X37: Kirkcaldy – Glenrothes

The 1855 & 1955 Glenrothes to Kirkcaldy weekday journeys are withdrawn, with alternative journeys available on service X53. The 0750 Saturday Kirkcaldy to Glenrothes journey is withdrawn, with an alternative departure at 0805 .

Service 46/46A: Leven – Kennoway – Star – Glenrothes

Revised timetable to accommodate other changes on the network, with most journeys running earlier than previously. This service will now serve Markinch railway station and offer connections to/from services 95 and 97 from Lundin Links replacing the current X4 and 46A journeys from Lower Largo. There are no other changes to the route or frequency.

Service 55A: Dunfermline – Rosyth – Ferrytoll P&R – South Queensferry

This service has been withdrawn. Routes X55 & 747 provide alternatives between Dunfermline and South Queensferry, and route 2A provides alternatives between Castlandhill Road and Ferrytoll P&R.

Service 95: Leven – Anstruther – St Andrews

Minor timetable revisions to maintain and improve connections with revised service X58/X60 at Leven. An additional weekday journey from St Andrews at 1450 to Leven is introduced.

Service 97: Leven – Largoward – St Andrews

Minor timetable revisions to maintain and improve connections with revised service X58/X60 at Leven. An additional weekday journey from St Andrews at 1030 to Leven is introduced. The 1410 Leven to St Andrews now runs on schooldays as well as school holidays.

Fife – Glasgow services are significantly revised to increase capacity and provide new journey opportunities:

Service X24: St Andrews – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Kincardine – Glasgow – Airport

Service X24 now runs via Forth Valley Royal Hospital, offering new links from the Falkirk area to Glasgow, Braehead and Glasgow Airport. Between St Andrews and Glenrothes, the service now runs on a limited stop basis, with revised service X59 serving all stops on this section of route. Some early morning and late evening journeys run as service 24 between St Andrews and Glenrothes via Ladybank, observing all stops. Most journeys are retimed.

New Service X26: Leven – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Kincardine – Glasgow

New service X26 runs hourly from Leven to Glasgow via Windygates, Markinch, Glenrothes, Cowdenbeath and Crossgates, providing many new direct journey opportunities. Services X24 & X26 combined offer journeys between Glenrothes and Glasgow up to twice an hour, and between Halbeath P&R, Dunfermline and Glasgow up to every 15 minutes along with service X27.

New Service 26: Dunfermline – Halbeath P&R – Cowdenbeath – Fife College – Glenrothes

The one X54 journey running on weekdays only between Dunfermline and Glenrothes via Fife College is renumbered service 26, with the route, times and stopping arrangements unchanged

Service X27: Kirkcaldy – Halbeath P&R – Kincardine – Glasgow

The timetable is revised to give a more regular frequency of up to every 30 minutes between Kirkcaldy and Glasgow, and up to every 15 minutes between Halbeath P&R, Dunfermline and Glasgow combined with services X24 & X26. All Monday to Saturday daytime X27 journeys now start and end at Kirkcaldy, with new service X26 providing a direct Leven to Glasgow service. Services 7/7A and X58/X60 provide alternatives for travel between Kirkcaldy and Leven, and service 41 continues to link Kirkcaldy and Cameron Hospital. Sunday X27 journeys will continue to run to/from Leven, along with a small number of early morning and late evening journeys.

Fife – Dundee services are revised to increase capacity, improve reliability and offer new journey opportunities:

Service X53: Kingoodie – Ninewells Hospital – Dundee – Cupar – Glenrothes – Kirkcaldy

Revised timetable to improve reliability and offer new journey opportunities.

The service is rerouted via Newport, restoring direct links with Ninewells Hospital and destinations in Fife. An additional AM peak journey to Ninewells and Invergowrie is added, as are later journeys to and from Kirkcaldy.

Service X54: Dundee – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh

Revised timetable to improve reliability and offer new journey opportunities.

Service X54 is rerouted to serve Thornton and Rothesay House in Glenrothes.

The Sunday frequency to Dundee is doubled to hourly and more X54 journeys run in the evenings.

Fife – Edinburgh services are significantly revised to increase capacity, improve reliability and prepare for the conversion of the Forth Road Bridge to a public transport priority route upon completion of the Queensferry Crossing.

The peak time frequency between Halbeath P&R and Edinburgh is increased to every 10 minutes. The peak time frequency between Ferrytoll P&R and Edinburgh is increased to every 5 minutes.

Both Ferrytoll and Halbeath also have improved frequencies on Sundays.

Services will now observe the Queensferry Road/Quality Street bus stops for improved connections with local bus services in north-west Edinburgh, including Lothian service 200 to Ocean Terminal.

When opened, buses will make use of new priority lanes and slip roads on approach to the Forth Road Bridge, bypassing peak time congestion:

New Service X5: Dunfermline – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – non stop – Edinburgh

New Service X9: Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – non stop – Edinburgh

These new commuter express services run from Dunfermline (X5) and Glenrothes (X9) to Halbeath and Ferrytoll park & rides, then non-stop to Edinburgh city centre.

Service X54: Dundee – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh

Service X59: St Andrews – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh

These services have revised timetables to improve reliability and offer new journey opportunities.

Service X54 is rerouted to serve Thornton and Rothesay House in Glenrothes. The Sunday frequency to Dundee is doubled to hourly and more X54 journeys run in the evenings.

Service X59 is revised to observe all stops between St Andrews and Glenrothes.

Both services have improved connections to/from St Andrews in the early morning and late evening.

Service X55: Dunfermline – Rosyth – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh

A revised timetable is introduced to improve reliability, with the hourly extension to/from Perth withdrawn and mostly replaced by new service X56. Additional PM peak departures from Edinburgh are introduced. Evening journeys now also run limited stop as service X55, with route number 55 no longer used.

Service X56: Perth – Kinross – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh

This service is revised to operate throughout the day, 7 days a week, replacing service X55 between Perth and Halbeath P&R and offering faster journeys to/from Edinburgh via the M90 motorway. Frequent connections to/from Dunfermline are available at Halbeath P&R, through fares are available.

Service X58/X60: St Andrews – Leven – Kirkcaldy – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh

A revised timetable is introduced to improve reliability and accommodate a forthcoming long-term closure of Hope Street, Inverkeithing. Service X60 reverts to serving Dalgety Bay rail station only, with the diversion via Moray Way North discontinued. At Inverkeithing both routes now run via Hillend Road serving the bus stops at Fraser Avenue.

New travel guides for Central Fife (in place of the current Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and Levenmouth guides) and North East Fife, along with Express guides for Edinburgh, Edinburgh Airport, Glasgow/Glasgow Airport, Dundee and Livingston will be available w/c 22 May. Please note that although there is no change to our JET747 or X51 services, our Edinburgh Airport and Livingston express guides have been updated and re-printed to show revised connections from 5 June 2017.

Don't know what they plan to use on the X55 but the timetable says power sockets and toilets (from memory the B7's have sockets), but don't have toilets so they must be getting the chop?

I think that is a mistake, the X24/26 and X54/59 doesn't have toilets. Also Dunfermline isn't due any new stock just Glenrothes for the enchantment. Right now spare X59 and plenty of X55 are using single deckers. Even if there managed to get rid of the B7s that still leaves 4 duties? I cant see how that can be done.

East Scotland can't be expecting a significant number of cascaded coaches. If there were there would be able to make the following a full coach service:

Also look at the new timetables:
X5/X9
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s... Scotland/Fife/TEMPORARY/ESCOT_Fife_X5_X9.pdf

There only one place there can come from is England, and that questionable. Bluebird/Highland have alot of older 55 plate coaches which are due to get replace, so were not getting them.

Here is the thing Rugby depot only has

14: INTERDECK Volvo B11
3: VolvoB12B

So is the those interdeck Deckers Fife getting? seems like a complete overkill for the X55, There would be better of being used on the X59.

Again why are these not ending up on the X5 or X9? Of course what about the 9 E300 from route 40 where will there end up?

MBonwick has indicated what may or may not be happening and, to be honest, is usually on the money about things in the Stagecoach realm.

Rather than scanning fleet lists on operations that are unfamiliar to you and trying to extrapolate, draw incorrect conclusions etc, why not wait?

Nobody said anything about interdecks...

On not here

The interdecks have been mention, but whether it was throw out or just someone looked at the idea before thinking, its not for them is also very possible. I will say this that has happens of late for something else, this whats caused the second guessing. ;)

There not that many coaches within the stagecoach empire so it can't be that hard to figure what were there coming from. There have to be English, because Bluebird has alot of older stock getting replace with this recent order. It still has 54 plate coaches running about.

There are plenty of threads on this forum and elsewhere that are total (insert Emily Thornberry's preferred rude noun) - people making leaps of faith, extrapolation of some facts into the realms of fantasy, 2+2 = 5, and opinion masquerading as fact.

Also, just because something is wittered on another forum doesn't make it any more valid ;)

Talking about the INTERDECK, a few of them seem to be off the road, thus E400 and even the Green E400 are running about on the X7.

Talking about the INTERDECK, a few of them seem to be off the road, thus E400 and even the Green E400 are running about on the X7.

Even worse, a X7 interdeck (54284) was used on the A11 Angus school run this afternoon, 3 X7 interdecks were noted in arbroath depot on Wednesday.

Also, tridents are returning to the likes of arbroath and Blairgowrie depot (18084? at Blair and 18076 + 18119 at arbroath), must be for vyking replacements (16921/2/3 sold to connexions and 16932 now withdrawn)

There must've been problems with the 73 hybrids recently as at 1 vyking has been noted on the 73 every day for the past 2 weeks, including new hybrid 13114 today and 18076 last week

Yet a 73 Hybrid has been used on the X7? Its been well noted the public hate the Interdecks maybe the new managements are seeing if its better with other stock.

Or the Interdecks are simply receiving warranty work from Plaxton. If they're not already going down to South Anston with the Buchan Link examples, I can't imagine they're far behind.

Plan is to have all the Vykings withdrawn by the end of the year - the return of the loaned E400s from Bluebird, plus the ex-Cambridge P&Rs should more than cover it. Looking at the amount of vehicles undergoing seatbelting, there'll probably then be another shuffle to get the ALX400s aligned as much as possible with school duties (ie. E400s on service work, ALX400s for schools).

There have now solved the problems the public have with the interdecks. How? By cutting the route in two and I dare say putting out different types of buses on the route. X8 is hourly.

There is still a variation to be published for the X7 from Dundee to Perth.

Does that x7 just stop at Perth city centre? If it does the public has won its battle. Also watch for 39 change.

I was asking if the x7 will only go as far as Perth city centre, instead going all the way to pri.

www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/east-scotland/rosyth-survey

Also more changes are being looked at. Note the link is for a survey; any chance for copying isn't possible.

Rosyth community survey on bus travel
As part of our ongoing commitment to understand the travel needs of our customers, we'd like to ask Rosyth and Inverkeithing residents a few questions about your use of bus services in the area.

This review will help us with future service development and will provide even more insight into how our buses are used. We're delighted that our own analysis tells us that more people in Rosyth are using the current bus routes in the area and we want to make sure we can continue to provide the best possible network of routes to serve the community.

As you can imagine there are many operational issues we face in the area, in particular, significant levels of traffic travelling via Rosyth when there is disruption on the Forth Road Bridge; and we are faced with increased difficulty accessing parts of Rosyth due to poorly parked cars, which can have a negative impact on those residents who rely on public transport the most if we simply can't get to them.

We are continually trying to minimise the impact of any such issues on our regular customers and it will be useful to understand customer movements in order to consider any future improvements.

We would be grateful if you could complete the form below by 30 June 2017.

The survey is anonymous and we only ask for a postcode to compare travel needs from various areas of Rosyth or Inverkeithing. This survey applies to all bus services operating in these areas.

Turns out the X7 will still go to PRI, so you have to ask what is the difference between X7 and X8?

There is also a stop change in Edinburgh, Craiglieth stop into Edinburgh has been moved, It will no longer stop at the one opp Petro station this being able to keep in the outside lane
