Thank you. Just wanted to make sure. Think i have some good examples so fingers crossed.

hi mate, MMI is competency based just remember STAR. for each of the 6 questions
what situation was
what your task was
your actions in order to deal with situation (I not we did this etc)
what happened as a result

And lastly feedback, always talk about how you had looked for feedback from colleagues managers etc - shows your willing to learn from experiences etc.

Cater your answers to the role profile of a train driver, get buzzwords in such as safety, resorted to your training, followed procedures, assessed the scene before you acted. Raised alarms or contacted people quickly (showing you can react quickly and safely to something going tits up).

Good luck :)

Hello, just wondering if anyone can give an indication on the questions which are asked at the Managers interview on stage 2? Would be a massive help in my preperation.

Many thanks

In my DMI they asked me what I knew about the company, why I wanted the role, what I understood about the role, future/progression, why freightliner and about me. It was relaxed and quite enjoyable. I think they want to see what you are really like as a person, how much you want the role and that you suit the core values.
The best advice I can give would be yourself and honest

To be honest there isn't that much prep required for it, quite standard interview questions but in a relaxed comfortable environment. Thankfully for me just being completely honest in my answers and also emphasising how my experience would provide me a good base to start my training from worked out well. Just remember to take a few moments to gather your answers.
Wishing you all the best mate

That's great thank you for your help it's really appreciated!

1st of all - Good Luck to those who are taking tests soon, plenty of advice on here for you to get you prepared.

2nd - I do wonder how many people FL are taking on in the pool vs amount of jobs available? Lots of us currently swimming in this large pool, so wonder how many they plan on having vs waiting time?

Not to put any slight on anyone still going through the process, I genuinely wish you all good luck! Just a thought....

They must have had potential applicants contact them and ask about trainee vacancies. They missed the boat! This time...

to be honest I think with the amount of people in the pool I doubt they would be recruiting anytime again in the near future surely?

So 4 potential courses in 2019 with 14 on each. 2 courses already going with about 25 on them combined.

That’s approx 80 trainees......with over 50 places yet to be allocated.
Wonder how many are actually in the pool.

Hi mate

Thanks for the tips, really do appreciate it. Sorry for the late reply only just realised you had replied to my message.

I think I'm just overthinking things really and getting myself worked up. I know one of the questions being asked is:

Describe a time when you can be relied on in a difficult situation.

Now this has stumped me, really don't know why as I have a few examples but from previous jobs. The way I read this is in everyday situations not job related if that makes sense. Probably overtjinking it like I said previously.

Thanks again. Only 3 more days until my stage 2 so as much advice I can get the better.

I do think you are overthinking in this case, not that I myself haven't done it at times, mind you.

For that question I am going to use an example taken from a previous job. The answers don't have to be necessarily job related, but if one has them from past job experience so be it.

Good luck to us.

Anybody that emailed them back about sending in qualifications (And asked the question about what to do if you don't have proof) heard anything yet?

Mailed them in, not had a reply. Not to worried about that though.

Yer I'm guessing they prob won't get back to you if you have been able to send them in. I haven't got my old school stuff so emailed them asking what to do as I can't send them, was wondering if anyone in same position had heard back.

Had stage two stuff today. For anyone going to Watford this week, there's no parking at the Regus site but the train station is just at the end of road. £8.20 for the whole day. Also there's pretty much no food available on site so I'd take some grub to eat!

For those that are sat waiting for feedback, they told us today they are massively busy processing everyone. Our results from mmi etc could be a month or more.

Don't chase them, they'll contact you when they get a sec seems to be the advice

If you haven't got them, what the apprenticeship people were doing was taking down where and what year you did them and (hopefully) finding out from the exam board.

Ahh right, that's ok then. Any idea what they do if you haven't got one of the qualifications in general, I didn't do a ICT GCSE.

I had some proof of English & Maths but also didn’t have ICT (wasn’t really a compulsory when I was doing them). Had a response saying thank you but nothing else.

Did they say what would happen if you didn’t get a grade C or better?
