Now TFW have rejigged the timetable to be an enhanced Sunday one:
The City Line gets a 90 min service which is good to help people get to work. This line has no services on Sundays.
Penarth gets a an hourly train...more than on a usual Sunday so people can get to work.
Whilst north of Radyr its every 2 hours but brought forward...to get people to work.
All good however where many others work and get the train to is Treforest Estate which now gets just a 0649 to Merthyr and 0815 to Central. Might as well not be served at all as people don't do 24 hour shifts!

The few trains that did operate this morning were packed to the rafters prompting punters to draw attention to Social Exclusion policy

The extra early train they've put on from Aberdare (0722) is the only one that passes Llandaf without stopping (Mon-Fri anyway, it stops on a Saturday), largely due to the massive overcrowding at Llandaf station on a normal weekday. For some reason they've kept to this which doesn't seem to make any sense at the moment. As it's my regular stop I'd be a bit annoyed at having to get off at Radyr to wait for the next train down but, fortunately, I'm now able to work from home so it's no longer a problem for me personally. It must affect other people though, especially anyone going to Velindre.

It also makes no sense for Trefforest Estate to only have one train in each direction per day. There must still be some people working in the area who rely on the service. I know it's supposed to be a Sunday service but I can't see why every train to/from Merthyr couldn't stop there as they do on normal working days. (I can't see why that doesn't happen on normal Sundays anyway, but that's a separate issue)

And surely there's no justification for any of these services being 2 car at the moment? I thought they wanted passengers to spread out?

Not Valley Lines but about TFW Rail so I might as well post it here rather than opening a new thread.

Was looking at the temporary timetables online and Swanline stops are being picked up every 2 hours by Manchester services. On a Sunday there isn't a Swanline service and hasn't been for some years. Good to see these stops being picked up for essential workers to travel to work. Same with the City Line which doesn't get a Sunday service. West of Swansea it seems to be a proper Sunday service frequency. HOW just 2 trains a day as Sundays.

Near empty 4 carriages running as normal until Saturday. Now there are less serices they are 2 cars and rammed. Genius.

If its anything like my toc the maintenance staff (who are normal human beings believe it or not) have been decimated by the current situation. Less maintenance staff= less maintenance = less stock available.
