Northern runs a handful of ECS services over that route, as of the timetable reduction starting next week it will be one train a day M-F from Newton Heath to New Mills Central (via Denton, Stockport and Hazel Grove).
This one?
But that does not traverse the section of the route between Denton Junction and Stalybridge.

One thing I've noticed is that today's services on my local line have been better than Monday - Friday. Hourly planned London - Exeter services with an hourly stopper shuttle between Basingstoke & Salisbury. Whereas weekdays it's been a rough hourly Waterloo - Salisbury (stopper), some extras at peak times and roughly 2 hourly Salisbury - Exeter.

Just seems crazy the Saturday timetable has more trains than weekdays

It’s similar on GN.

The notable flows are things like Stevenage to Hatfield, Hitchin to Welwyn, Welwyn to London, Hatfield to Finsbury Park.

The Horsham to Peterborough service remains quite busy (in comparative terms!) which makes this a bit of a bad choice for a service cut - the string of new towns north of Hitchin provide a completely different dynamic to the Cambridge branch (which has been largely dead off-peak since March).

The observations from others about Cambridge to Kings Lynn are interesting, not my neck of the woods so not something I’ve really seen. I’d agree that my observations would support the notion that these people are generally not travelling south of Cambridge.
The Thameslink/GN timetables for next week are on their website, and will be reflected in online planners from tomorrow. I've had a quick look from a Stevenage perspective:

On weekdays I expected the additional peak trains to go and for the 15 minute all day interval Thameslink service to remain, but no! The peak extras are retained (hopefully still 365 operated) with one of the Thameslink services removed (a Peterborough - Horsham)
This means places like Huntington, only have an hourly service throughout the day supplemented by the peak extras
Arlesey and Sandy don't get the peak extras so an hourly service only
After 20:00 the two 'fast' trains from Stevenage to London an hour are 15 minutes (xx17 and xx32) leaving a 45 minute gap
Semi fasts (i.e. the trains that call at Knebworth, Welwyn North, WGC, Hatfield, Potters Bar) remain at 30 minute intervals
The inner suburban services via Hertford appear unchanged at 30 minute intervals

On Saturdays the 15 minute all day Thameslink interval is retained so there is a better service on Saturdays than on weekdays, significant at places like Huntingdon and Arlesey
Semi fasts remain at 30 minute intervals
Inner suburban via Hertford unchanged at 30 minute intervals

On Sundays there are two 'fast' trains an hour (unchanged) one to Kings Cross and one through the core
Semi fasts reduced to hourly
Inner suburban via Hertford unchanged at 30 minute intervals

The Baldock peak services seem to be continuing also. Many of these are, of course, 387 now - at least for this timetable.

Northern have added temporary Sunday timetables to their website. The 'temporary timetable' for Sunday for routes 17 and 20 shows a change applicable from 4th April!

Also a change in that 1S52 10:10 London Euston to Glasgow Central and 1M16 15:40 Glasgow Central to London Euston are now booked a double Voyager.

Oh thats very strange. Presumably it's to keep crews trained as there has been a lack of Voyagers to Glasgow over the lockdown period.

It also seems to be that there is no Euston - Manchester via Wilmslow either.

Scarborough to Hull more frequent on Sunday than Weekdays this is mad

Sunday service is similar to Mon-Sat for Mid-Cheshire with the exception of later first trains. That means the Sunday service isn't suitable for many essential workers who work on Sunday e.g. if you're a supermarket worker starting before 10am, a train arriving just after 10am is no use.

That sounds like fun. Are they planned much in advance? I do hope to be up north this year, perhaps I could fit a diversion in.

I don't know as it was out of the blue for me.

I was visiting a friend's gaff in North Wales and came back on Sunday. the train terminated at Chester with a choice between a bus doing the intermediate stations onwards or a mid-Cheshire train shuttle to Manchester.

I was quite pleased as fast trips along the mid-Cheshire are few and far between !

Greater Anglia have just published their reductions.

Looks worse than before. Southend pretty much one an hour off peak and every 1hour 20mins on the Southminster branch.

Looks like I'll be driving to work now.

If you can drive to work then in the short term, unfortunately, that is what the authorities wish you to do.

Just ironic that I drive them but probably won't be able to use them to get to work. Last time at least it was a regular 30 minute service on my line. Not random 1hr 20 minute gaps.

Let's hope there is no traffic or other road congestion or more may be cancelled.

Most of the "rural" routes (e.g. Cambridge-Ipswich) drop to less than hourly. Ouch.

Avanti services from Manchester to Euston and Birmingham to Euston are now both hourly.

Norwich-London hourly XX:00 up/XX:30 dn (05:12 ex-Ipswich/07:00 ex-Liv St will also run)

Anglia local routes roughly 2 hourly off peak with Ipswich-Cambridge removing one diagram meaning 2 trains every 3 hours. Few extra East Suffolk services.

Thanks. Could be the end for a few 317s although the WA cuts are fairly minor.

Looking in from outside i wonder if GA could have used the Saturday timetable on Monday to Friday instead of this random headways. I agree the Southend branch looks a mess.

LNW have not gone back to the emergency timetable they operated in lockdown 1, though they have withdrawn a number of peak time only services into and out of Euston. They have also withdrawn all but one 8 car set of 319's from service, and have continued with the all day bus replacement service on both the Bedford line and the St Albans Abbey line.

EMR Intercity are changing the diagrams on Monday so only 2 HST's will be in use rather than 5 and probably some more single 222's in place but no timetable changes.

Thanks for the info above. I've since found there are quite a few Crewe to Derby journeys being withdrawn temporarily.

On Liverpool to Nottingham it seems to only be the 12:50 off Liverpool not running and at least TPE have their 13:18 from Manchester this time. So not a bad show. Very little runs through to Norwich though.
