Even more so as trains on the Severn Beach line are now running into Temple Meads, following the reopening of the lines from Dr Days Jn.

Does anyone know the situation regarding Bristol Parkway to Weston Super Mare via St Phillips Marsh this week? An hourly service is listed on RealTime Trains. Thanks :)

(Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere - I've been away, and haven't been able to keep up to date)

Seems that some services are cancelled today due to driver shortages, though not showing as cancelled on RTT. I’ve just had a long walk to Parson St with two young children (having checked on the way) only to find the 13:47 isn’t running. Promised them a train ride today as a treat too, not sure if the next one in an hour will work out as there isn’t a train back from parkway and I need to be back at work before 6. Wasted afternoon.

MOST services (running via St Philip's Marsh) have either been cancelled throughout, or between Bedminster and Parkway. Very annoying. Luckily I managed to get a southbound service through the depot earlier (having failed on Tuesday!).

Last day tomorrow.

I can tell you that the 1214 and 1314 trips should run as I know they are crewed by myself and a colleague. As for the others who knows.

The 1314 is booked a 2car 158, so I'd try for the 1214 if you can!

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
I successfully managed to do the depot diversion yesterday on the 12:14 Parkway as far as Nailsea & Backwell (166209), returning back to Parkway on the 13:39 (43194+170).

The southbound waited time at Bedminster, with the northbound waiting time at Filton Abbey Wood.

I would have been your driver from Parkway to Nailsea, in that case!

West is best
It has to be said that riding on a train through SPM is rather weird compared to walking through on foot. Especially as the low speed of the train through this section is rather slow. Meaning it ‘feels’ almost as slow as actually walking it!

Trust me its much quicker than walking! Having done these moves at 10mph (the official speed of the BGAL) it makes all the moves on depot we do at 5mph feel very slow!!

I hadn't appreciated how large the site is until I went through a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the gen, I may try for the 12:14 tomorrow without the kids, if I take my bike on (reservation needed?) I could always ride back home from Parkway if return options are crap. Suspect I might not be able to escape from work, but could do it as an extended lunch break.

Went through the depot yesterday on the 10.50 out of Bedminster where 3 rail staff were present to help and advise. In the depot were a group of 6 or 8 bigwigs who waved back!

Are they the only crewed services today? Was aiming for 9D18 & 9Y65 or 67.
1314 will be the last one by the looks of it.

Tyrell messages already out 1014/1114/1414/1514 all CAPE.

I did the 09.14 Bristol Parkway - Weston with 158 747. Plenty of room. 11.20 return busy, no aircon in rear coach.

Filton A W - Bedminster 20m 10s via the Marsh going out, BMT - FIT 19m 27s coming back.

Now have 20 min wait at FIT. Booked to form the 13.14 ex BPW.

Before that, it goes off in to the Up Spur, which is the siding alongside the Up Badminton, under the road-over bridge 200m from the platform at the London end

I'll try a reset on the AC when I get it, but unlikely to help!

Yes it did that move earlier, although nothing used P4 in the interim. Hopper windows now open.

Disruption at Parkway. Arrived in P3 not P4 ad 12.04 Swansea just dep P4 40 late having split. 800 031 left on its own with front covers open.

Edit. 158 747 Now reversing in P3 to form 13.14 to Weston.

Managed a run on the 12:14, Abbey Wood - Bedminster, cheers for the tip-off. I did spend 30p on a gamble that I could make a connection to the return service at Bedminster (bit tight as timetabled 2 minutes). In the event we were more than ten minutes early at bemmy, but the service due to go the other way was terminating there, so I just rode straight home on the bike. Nice little run though. Went over the crossover to the slow lines at Horfield Jn then back across at Dr Days, running on the down line round the curve to the junction for SPM. Got a good view of the inter city liveried gronk too.

A driver will know better than me, but I am fairly sure that is the only way it can be accessed from FIlton as the only direct access to SPM from there is via the Down Filton Relief (i.e. platform lines at LWH) then the Up/Down Loop (westernmost of the two lines) at Roobarb.
