Have other lapsed Railcard holders received an email inviting application for a new card? I recall that when it expired sometime last year, there was silence, not even a reminder not to purchase discounted tickets without renewing.

I was given two emails, one warning me my railcard was close to expiration and one saying my railcard had expired.

Mine (disabled) expired in March this year. I don’t recall getting a reminder. As I didn’t use the last one due to lockdowns/Covid-19 I’m not in a hurry to renew it again. Unlikely to do so before next year.

Just renewed mine (senior) and well aware of the date did it 28 days before, probably before I would have expected an email. As an aside when I did it on line I found they had updated their website since I was there three years ago and I had to request a new password. Might be related to not receiving reminders. Card arrived in under a week including the bank holiday.

What is unclear is whether I can use the new one before the expiry date of the old one, not that anybody asks to see it anyway.

I don't recall a reminder for my 3-year senior railcard which expired in May. Normally I use a train a couple of times a month, so I see the card and the date on it. This year was different, but luckily no-one asked to see it on my first train journey in June.

Mine ran out last year as well and I certainly didn't get any reminder.
However I have just renewed mine for one year as I have a couple of trips coming up.

My last 3-year senior card expired on 29th August, and I received an email reminder about it on 1st August. I had to do a password reset, but otherwise it was all straightforward, and the new one arrived within two or three days of my doing the renewal.

So it looks as if renewal reminders were suspended at the height of the pandemic, but are now back.

No reminders at all that my Senior Railcard expired in late August. Might have been useful as the railcard hasn't exactly had a lot of use in the last 2 years so the 3 year deal wasn't exactly great value, particularly for my wife who, being vulnerable, hasn't been near public transport for 18 months.
We won't be renewing unless I need to make a longish journey that might make it worthwhile.
