Hi
Does anyone know routes in France that still have loco hauled trains, any advice on the best places to go would be greatly appreciated.

Still some in use around Strasbourg on some TER services. Along with the TER+ services to Basel and Mulhouse.
The slower trains from Paris to Toulouse still are loco hauled too. As well as Bourdoux to Lyon services. So Toulouse would be a good point for these.

It's a dying breed these days with units ordered and due to take over in the future.

Paris de Austerlitz for various Intercite de Nuit trains ( Portbou, Latour de Carol and Nice I think )

Still a number of local trains out of Paris Montparnasse and St. Lazare and also a few medium distance ones too. Chambery has a decent allocation of 22200s but they work over a wide area so careful planning needed there. As suggested by @92002 Strasbourg worth a visit, last of the diesel 67400s work peak time trains there. A number of 22200 diagrams around there also. Worth joining one of the online groups where you can get information on diagrams.

Most/all of the Lyon-Geneva TER services via Chambery were loco-hauled pre-Covid.

Sounds like Strasbourg and Lyon are hubs for these workings (both places I'm yet to visit... I wonder how long the 67400s will remain around Strasbourg? - Last use in France now that the 1705/1805 Paris Est commuter trains are gone).

I've been enjoying some of the Marseille - Nice (this weekend) and Marseille - Lyon (a few weeks back) TERs recently...

An absolute classic.
