Thanks to COVID it looks like I’m going to have rearrange my return travel.
From their help at https://v3.trainsplit.com/covid-refunds it looks like the share of savings isn’t refunded. As Trainsplit are going to charge the share of savings on the follow-up booking, this feels a little mean that they’re taking fees twice for the same trip, or is that just me?

There might not be any savings to made on the new booking, though, thus no fee.

I agree I was tiny bit disappointed when I found out (naturally when refunding a booking on which the share of savings was quite a big number) but I got over it pretty quickly - theirs is one of the best booking platforms going at the moment (for my requirements anyway) and I'd still think that even if it didn't actually search for splits, so I'm not fussed about making a contribution to their costs.

Besides, writing off a few pounds - whether as 'lost' or 'donated' - was easy to rationalise either way given how much they've saved me since I started using them.
