It all works on paper when everything is on time The ‘efficient’ diagramming falls apart whenever the job falls apart. The task of recovering the service then becomes a little bit of an issue.

Not 100% correct. Crewe crews were used on the services until the early days of the East Midlands Trains franchise. Don’t know when the other North West depots (Liverpool/Piccadilly) lost the work.

All competency on 150 will have lapsed. Training for all staff will be the same irrespective of whether or not they have worked 150s before. With there being no service for over 6 months between Bletchley & Bedford, route LEARNING will take place rather than route review.

Any specific examples of this ? During my time at EMT (approx 10 years), I can’t recall this happening. Maybe things have changed under EMR, but I am sure if that was the case it would have been highlighted here.

Out of interest, which LAW is this that requires to take a Driver to have a PNB ? To my knowledge RSSB standards / RAIB recommendations are not incorporated into law but I may be wrong.

And most lines are closed for traffic during the night (0100-0500 ish) which probably allows time for routine maintenance which isn’t possible on ‘live’ Network Rail infrastructure

Could it possibly be that todays plan was originally drawn up on back of the (cancelled) RMT on Wednesday and the resulting late start to services ? it may been decided that with a later start, operating a shuttle would be a challenge ? (I don’t know the geography of Chiltern operations that...

Certainly no prospect of normal timetables for Saturday or Monday. Wednesday - I would suspect is highly unlikely to be normal due to planning & rostering constraints/timescales. There will not be sufficient staff to process alterations in time (but I could be wrong)

Quiet a claim to make. Can you provide substantial evidence of this ? or it just an accusation because they don’t give you a reply you agree with ? I have no connection with GTR but am interested in how you come to this conclusion

And as soon as there is an on-board announcement to assist the above, it is considered unnecessary.
