New Mega Battery Plant at Bridgwater.

Recent announcement of plans to build a Large Battery manufacturing facility on the site of ROF Puriton makes me wonder if it will lead to the reinstatement of the branch into the site. A Concrete bridge over the M5 built in the seventies is still in place. It does seem a strange place...

Petition launched to demand re-opening of Dumfries-Stranraer railway line

They are many more deserving schemes than this in Scotland alone. Since the ferries moved to Cainryan, Stranraer is not exactly a busy port and the existing line struggles. Surviving line also connects with the Scottish central belt whilst the “Port Road” goes via Dumfries. This makes sense...

    Capacity problems Leeds

This may be off thread? Do we start a reopening Otley thread? I am pretty sure that there are better things to spend cash on; however a reopening of the Otley line from the East rather than the West, makes some sense. Reopening through Pool in Wharfdale would involve the demolition of some...

    Kirkstall Forge Station Parking

Access to the canal is very easy just leave the Shipley Platform through the gap in the fence and follow the path into the trees. Turn left and its 300 yards or so and heads towards Leeds, turn Right and you run parallel with the canal till you reach Pollard Lane and the Abbey Inn. Being local I...

[Q It may be more suited to a stations named after places other than where they actually are thread, but Weeton Station on the Harrogate line is in the middle of Huby village.
