Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

No doubt other companies have the odd vehicle that is worse than others of the batch, trouble is, you only ever hear about these odd vehicles. There’s always a ‘dog’ of the batch isn’t there!

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Had a trip On the 36A Dufftown to Granton and Aviemore yesterday 21416 one way and 21411 the other, what a difference in two vehicles from the same batch. 21416 rattled and banged like a 10 year old enviro, by contrast 21411 was as smooth as silk with no annoying creaks and bangs. Speaking to...

Ah right - thanks for that! Maybe Highland will update things soon!

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

I’ve just had a look on the Scottish notices and proceedings and the only mention in the last couple of months is the cancellation of them registration for the 8 in Inverness and the registration for the once a year Sunday 36 for the whisky festival. They may have submitted their applications...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Bluebird has too many ‘Coach’ profile vehicles anyway, often these unsuitable monstrosities appear on local services where access for pushchairs, walking aids and people with reduced mobility is poor and nonexistent. In my view, any spare vehicles should be low floor wheelchair accessible...

    Caledonian Sleeper

When I arrived at Inverness yesterday there were 2 coaches sitting out of the rake over by the motorail sidings - plus a short distance away, some sort of generator coach. When we got into the platform there were 2x73/9 heading a sleeper set where the whole thing was marginally longer than the...

    Caledonian Sleeper

I pay from £136 to £188 for an accessible berth from Inverness to London, with my railcard. I couldn’t sit on an azuma for that long (20 minutes on one and I’m uncomfortable) and if I were to drive I’d be looking at around £100 in fuel and perhaps £60 in a premier inn/ Travelodge So the...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Many staff wished to go to the funeral service of the poor driver who lost his life last month. A decision was obviously made to withdraw services for a short period to facilitate this.

Bus driver dies after incident at Elgin bus station

I merely base my opinion on what I have experienced, the media may have a bearing on how some people think, my self - it’s based on being assaulted, having things thrown at me in the cab, being urinated over from the upper deck (via the periscope), punched and threatened by passengers and had...

Bus driver dies after incident at Elgin bus station

I wouldn’t know if there is any evidence, however you only have to open your eyes, look at a newspaper, read a forum etc to see that times have changed. Why do you think new buses are automatically fitted with assault screens? If there hadn’t been a rise in assaults since the 80’s they...

Bus driver dies after incident at Elgin bus station

My sentiments exactly, retired now, but after 40 years of being in passenger transport, I’m glad I don’t need to drive buses now! I really feel for both the family of the poor driver, and for his colleagues who all have to carry on with this in their minds and the fear it inevitably causes.

    Caledonian Sleeper

I am of the opinion that the published time of arrival quoted on your booking is the one any delay markers or repay criteria should be judged against.

Confusing message from Scotrail about catering facilities

I just think that it’s too generic a reason, when, in a transparent society, the powers that be cannot simply say ‘There’s no staff because they’re stuck somewhere’ We already get messages from ScotRail like Due to a cracked rail this train will be formed of less carriages than normal - it...

Confusing message from Scotrail about catering facilities

Of course they are, but wouldn’t the reason then be ‘Displaced Crew’ rather than points failure.

Confusing message from Scotrail about catering facilities

This has come up on my ScotRail app under alterations to service for todays (17/1/24) 1726 Glasgow to Inverness service I understand that crew may be displaced causing them not to be on the train but fail to see how a points failure can cause the service not to have catering!!!! Can someone...
