    EMR refusing scotish money

When I was in Scotland a lot of non-Scottish banks e.g. Santander were issuing Clydesdale bank notes

    EMR refusing scotish money

In my opinion this reflects the 'we don't care' attitude that sadly has dominated business, rather than thinking 'OK this is what the customer has, so we need to find a way to accept it that works for both of us'. When I lived in Aberdeen, these issues were a pain and meant I had to go and...

New Eltham to Oxford During Strike

I've never had a problem with staff at Woolwich Elizabeth line. Though my routes are usually more straightforward e.g. Plumstead origin tickets. If it's got a Maltese cross on it, I'd be confident they'll accept it (manually). Because they aren't too well versed in permitted routes, they'll...

Agreed. Can't see any issue here

XC strike Sat 13th April OFF

My question is therefore why does the strike change the rostering? I thought the normal roster would be published and then if there is a strike some people who are in the union may choose not to turn up. I've never seen a company change its rosters due to a strike. Maybe railways are unique. Yet...

XC strike Sat 13th April OFF

Extremely inflexible - businesses need to be able to be demand-responsive, and never seen this issue elsewhere

York station Lowther Terrace (Holgate) exit

Surely speed cameras at 5mph in the carpark (the usual carpark speed) would help the situation. And in a less serious note, surely every station should have an exit onto Station Road, where a road of this name is available

Plumstead to Dorking; Caterham to Plumstead

Thanks for this Watershed - will look into the details of your very helpful suggestion within the next day or so 1712724759 Thanks. I think the return to Dorking plus Purley single is best for me as means can use swr or southern and avoids any complications at Dorking about keeping a ticket on a...

Plumstead to Dorking; Caterham to Plumstead

Can anyone think of a better way than 2 singles for this journey. Out from Plumstead to Dorking. Back from Caterham to Plumstead. A split ticket at Norwood junction would be possible but would resrtict route options and trains to those that call.

Connection London Kings Cross to St Pancras

It's right next door, it's not going to take long to walk. Kings Cross platform platform 10 to the nearest St Pancras platform will be as quick if not quicker than getting to Kings Cross platform 1.

Is there a reason why SWR long-distance trains you cant reserve a seat?

It's a regional style service, works better that way

Eastbourne to Loughborough Junction via St Leonards - permitted route/excess fare question

Basically you want to go up the Hastings line it seems. Will leave it to the experts to decide how to do that with tickets, yet useful to clarify the intended route

    Brighton to London via Hove

Thanks. Did it. And it worked the gate! People using a Brighton to London to start at Hove I'd think it's important to get a train that goes straight to Preston Park not one to Brighton. Passing through origin isn't good!

    Brighton to London via Hove

I'm fairly confident on this but just would like a 2nd opinion. As GTR seems to feature a lot in disputes and prosecutions! Return leg off peak return Plumstead to Brighton. Am I correct in saying I can start short at Hove and that this would be permitted as its within 3 miles of shortest...
