Interrail cabin reservation on GWR Night Riviera

Good to know. (For anyone with Fujitsu Journey Planner, view availability against a walk up ticket ie SDS, scroll down to SZE in supplements, add it, book it, ticket reservations and supplements only.)

Interrail cabin reservation on GWR Night Riviera

I did hear a whisper when Virgin introduced TTK Avocet as their ticket office TIS that they "couldn't do sleepers" but I don't know if that was actually true or continues to be but would be possible explanation for Euston, Birmingham, Crewe. Otherwise its just lack of product knowledge, Riviera...

LNER ASLEF strike on 20th April

Announced on 4th April, but as we know not all things get equal media attention. https://aslef.org.uk/publications/aslef-strike-and-overtime-ban-lner

    Refused to pay

HM Forces railcard, can take up to 4 accompanied children. I had someone a few days ago attempt to buy discounted tickets with only the photocard and warrant card, no railcard. I obviously declined to do so.

Unexpectedly Backwards to Birmingham on Avanti West Coast

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your explanation but that's the issue there. First Class should be at front going south, at the rear going north. F13 and F14 are definitely forward facing on a seat diagram travelling south.

Bought Child all area day saver instead of 16-18 day saver

To be precise as a 17 year old, it would be the 16-18 Day Saver (not to be confused with 16-17 saver railcard) at £2.95 that she could obtain in future not the child (5-15) day saver at £2.95 which can land you in trouble as the OP would attest.

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

Yes, trains very busy. Shuttle bus operates from Cark station to the racecourse and back. Perhaps more relevantly, Morecambe vs Barrow scheduled for 1st April will seemingly be impacted now.

    Manchester Airport Ticket Roulette

The Off Peak Return is £28.70 which is "about £28". Travelling Sat AM, Sun PM you shouldn't be considering anything that costs more than that.

    Workington bridge closed? (29/02/2024)

Guard was correct. You should be able to see timings in journey planners now for Maryport - Carlisle shuttles next week.

    Huge usage of splitting

Not just advertisements but defaulting (as far as I can tell when a customer shows me "but the app says its this price") to SplitSave when producing fare results so even totally passive users end up with splits.

    2024 Fare Revision

Sounds like you are mixing up the Anytime Day Return and Off Peak Day Return. (Non railcard prices) Anytime increased from £26.10 to £27.40 Off Peak increased from £21.90 to £23.00 So with a railcard it is £18.05 Anytime or £15.15 Off Peak.

    Workington bridge closed? (29/02/2024)

Network Rail are inspecting it this morning. Will find out later if its possible to run with a speed restriction or whether it requires closure.

Unpaid fare notice from TransPennine for honest mistake which only caused inconvenience for me

£36.80 is also 2xCDS between Leeds and York. I have seen these low TPE settlements before.

How many minutes to refund ticket at booking office?

Don't know what TIS Southeastern use but on Fujitsu STAR if you are in a contest to see who can do the quickest refund then could probably do it in a couple of minutes, but more reasonably checking things are legit, dotting i's and crossing t's etc it would be about 5 minutes normally.
