Is it just me or are there more rail replacement bus services running than usual?

That would be quite the replacement bus! Especially if it was one of the ones without a working toilet (I have had them about 50/50 over the last year, including the Heart of Wales without)

    GWR 150 celebrations

Even though it was (just) before I was born an image still pops up in my mind everytime these events are mentioned. The return trip of 2857 and a raft of wagons from the SVR to Newport: http://www.2857.org.uk/images/RiverUskNewport10-09_600px.jpg

    Train Sim World

Hi Strat-tastic, You will need to key out, walk to the cab nearest the point that you are uncoupling, key in, push the uncouple button and reverse away slightly (possibly until the front is on a marker in this case), then key out, walk back to the front, key in and ready to go.

Correct Full Address for gWr refunds?

Yes, they did. I even commented on how much easier it was to get the money back from TfW for an unused ticket (by scanning a copy of the tickets severed). That cancellation was due to overcrowding meaning I couldn't board the train.

Correct Full Address for gWr refunds?

I realised after the event that this may have been the case, but there was no way I was sending nearly £200 worth of ticket anywhere without tracking ability. I phoned the helpline and got an appropriate 5 line address to send them to (recorded) now. I don't mind paying a bit for peace of mind.

Correct Full Address for gWr refunds?

So, the lady in the post office refused to take the letter off me without a postcode. She either doesn't know, or it is not valid!

Correct Full Address for gWr refunds?

Going to send them with the Address on the way home from work then. I have kept a photocopy of the tickets in case it gets lost.

Correct Full Address for gWr refunds?

I know that the tickets were usable on another train, but there are 0 trains in Cornwall on Saturday so that wasn't an option. I was only told of the Cornwall cancellations by gWr, and only found out that the sleeper is cancelled by a throw away comment on their website, so I toyed with the...

Correct Full Address for gWr refunds?

Hi, Hoping that one of the enlightened individuals on here can assist. I had a journey booked for this weekend across 4 tickets (and a supplement) that has been part cancelled due to industrial action. I have request a full refund for all 4, but the address that they have provided to send...

    Train Sim World

I do not currently have it installed (I try to keep to 8-10 routes at a time), but.... I cannot remember where it is exactly on the 45/47, but something is telling me down to your left from the seat. The DMU there is a lever under the 2nd mans seat.

    Guess the Station...

I know it very well, and it has been up all weekend. Barry Island, and open floor as I will have nothing to hand for most of the day (and probably a bit longer to dig something out)

    The Signalman

Initially thinking this may be a re-run for the 1976 drama filmed on the preserved SVR, I went to look... It would seem to be a brand new musical adaption, but I will note to those interested that this is shown to be 15:17 (?) on Xmas day: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ghw9 Also shown...

    Will Mallard Ever Run Again?

I am not entirely sure it would be any worse, or even as bad. Most of the trespass is down to the mass-media letting the general populous know when 'Scotsman is passing, and the fact that it is 'the most famous loco in the world'. Mallard is (only) the record holder for the fastest that a...

    Future of the Class 89

 You knew what I meant! :p No point me going all the way to Padd, just to basically come home again In fact, take the thought further, as it is being operated by LSL: Class 47 hauled (89 on the back) Crewe-Cardiff with Passenger pickups at Shrewsbury/Hereford/Abergavenny, say 6am...

    Future of the Class 89

Could I possibly request a reverse of that idea?
