Out of date railcards: what should the policy be, and what measures could be taken to avoid problems in future?

I know comparisons are not liked here, butI if I don't renew my car insurance I risk having the car taken off me and destroyed, prosecuted and points added to my licence. So why shouldn't people who can't take some responsibility for not renewing their Railcard be treated in the same way? For...

How about people who have Railcards take some personal responsibility and keep their own records of the expiry date? But that would need a change to the current GDPR legislation.

    Cycle Bag Searching at Stations

Thank you, I couldn't remember what colour it was.

    Cycle Bag Searching at Stations

Becasue currently the country is in an Alert status. There was a notice about the level at the Ambulance Station I work out of.

    Cycle Bag Searching at Stations

And yet I read a news article from somewhere in the country this week that a BTP sniffer dog found bags of drugs in a bag on a train, so they are around.

    ‘Travelling passenger work’

It means they are travelling as a passenger to get to the station (generally)where they are going to take over driving another train, or they are returning to the depot to book off duty.

There's jumping the barriers then this.

Yes, as the Lidar system is only activated when the lowering system is activated. It is not permanently "active". If the photo of the flying front bumper is correct it should have the front number plate attached to it.

    Refused to pay

Because those are the Terms & Conditions that you agreed to abide by, and you haven't. As a Serviceman you are expected to follow Orders, are you not? Those T & C's are no different.

    Refused to pay

Whether the OP is dissatisfied with the service the railway provides or not, these are the Terms & Conditions that he agreed to when he was given the Railcard and he has quite obviously ignored them.

Advice on Single Justice Procedure Notice unusual situation

I would suggest that the 3 highlighted actions above are the best bet. If the OP and his/her sister have the same surname returning the post marked "not at this adress" would look suspicious.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

And yet other operators have managed to fit SDL for a lot less money. That makes WCRC's claim fatuous. No, the safety standards a passenger boat skipper/owner are required to meet includes the safety of all their passengers.. To suggest that means they would have to be locked in is...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

Wasn't something similar to that what the ORR was insisting on, but when the ORR did a spot-check visit, they found that it was one of the things that they weren't doing?

Urgent - court case Friday 12th April

Yet it appears they didn't pass on the documents about the original case against you. Have you checked with them about this? I note you state you are deaf, so do you hold a Disabled Adult Rail Card?
