Ex-Cross Country HST set at Leicester LIP?

The original DATS formation was HST-91-MK3s-90-MK3s-91-HST iirc. Now if only we could have a 92 on it this time

Ex-Cross Country HST set at Leicester LIP?

There’s been a Colas/ex-Cross Country HST, along with four MK3 in its consist, stabled at Leicester L.I.P for around a week now. Does anyone know what it’s doing there and what its plans for it are? Eastern Rail Services on Facebook posted this:

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

What I found tends to happen at Euston is that a manual announcement will be made pre-advertisement, advising passengers that the train is being prepared and not yet ready. An automated announcement then follows a few minutes later advertising the platform. The issue at Euston is that there...

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

One thing I’ve noticed is that the main boards and announcements are out of sync with each other. Sometimes trains will be announced a good few minutes before it is advertised on the screens, of which it’ll still give an approximate boarding time.

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

Waiting at Euston, with the 11:53 to Manchester Piccadilly was the only being advertised, along with a Blackpool North service. Once the 11:53 to Manchester Piccadilly was announced, it was like The Hunger Games, with everyone running and pushing each other to the platform to get onboard...

Euston Disruption From Signalling Faults (2/3 April)

After some attempts to restore the signalling this morning, it has now failed again due to issues with the power supply.

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

Someone posted a video on Twitter/X yesterday, of the severe overcrowding at Euston due to the signalling problems. They voiced their concerns about it not being safe and handled very well. I found the response by Network Rail at Euston quite passive aggressive, in my opinion:

Euston Disruption From Signalling Faults (2/3 April)

Lines have reopened although major disruption and alterations is still expected until the end of service, today. A few platforms still need ‘talking’ in and out of Euston.

New Mills Central landslip - 6 week closure

We’re having yet more heavy rain in Derbyshire. Right now in Matlock, the rain is torrential. We’ve had rain nearly every day for months upon end, with no end in sight for low upcoming pressure system. How much more rain can the railway take?

    MML Electrification: progress updates

I recall Leicester is being left out for the time being, as a gap, whilst they come up with a solution with the low bridge at the south end of the station. There’s the station buildings and busy main road above and a sewer below, so limited options. The next stages I believe are Leicester...

Constant issues between Paddington and Reading?

What seems like a daily occurrence from as far back as I can remember, there seem to be constant reliability issues between London Paddington and Reading. Whether it be an infrastructure issue or a train fault, this is something which regularly occurs on this section of the GWML. Why is it...

New Mills Central landslip - 6 week closure

I’m hearing reports that the land next to the track has subsided at New Mills Central. This comes after a 5mph emergency speed restriction imposed by Network Rail, which has been in place for a prolonged period of time. It’s been said that the earth besides the track has been moving, although...

WCML blockade - impact on EMR services? (29/03 - 01/04)

I noticed this in the timetable. However, will that mean that most WCML pax will be using the EMR 'Connect' Corby services as opposed to the Intercity services, which go further north?
