There’s been a Colas/ex-Cross Country HST, along with four MK3 in its consist, stabled at Leicester L.I.P for around a week now. Does anyone know what it’s doing there and what its plans for it are?
Eastern Rail Services on Facebook posted this:
What I found tends to happen at Euston is that a manual announcement will be made pre-advertisement, advising passengers that the train is being prepared and not yet ready. An automated announcement then follows a few minutes later advertising the platform.
The issue at Euston is that there...
One thing I’ve noticed is that the main boards and announcements are out of sync with each other.
Sometimes trains will be announced a good few minutes before it is advertised on the screens, of which it’ll still give an approximate boarding time.
Waiting at Euston, with the 11:53 to Manchester Piccadilly was the only being advertised, along with a Blackpool North service.
Once the 11:53 to Manchester Piccadilly was announced, it was like The Hunger Games, with everyone running and pushing each other to the platform to get onboard...

How much more rain can the railway take?
I recall Leicester is being left out for the time being, as a gap, whilst they come up with a solution with the low bridge at the south end of the station. There’s the station buildings and busy main road above and a sewer below, so limited options.
The next stages I believe are Leicester...
What seems like a daily occurrence from as far back as I can remember, there seem to be constant reliability issues between London Paddington and Reading.
Whether it be an infrastructure issue or a train fault, this is something which regularly occurs on this section of the GWML.
Why is it...
I’m hearing reports that the land next to the track has subsided at New Mills Central. This comes after a 5mph emergency speed restriction imposed by Network Rail, which has been in place for a prolonged period of time. It’s been said that the earth besides the track has been moving, although...
East Midlands Railway have (finally) announced that they will be refurbishing their Class 158s, 170s and 360s as part of a £60 million pound refurbishment programme.

I noticed this in the timetable. However, will that mean that most WCML pax will be using the EMR 'Connect' Corby services as opposed to the Intercity services, which go further north?
