Gatwick Express: Should it have more stops?

Good point, maybe the brand should be renamed in truth as a Thameslink from London Bridge is actually faster than the GatEx is anyway. May the GatEx could be similar to the Cambridge Express from Kings Cross, where by its KX non stop Cambridge then all stops to Kings Lynn. The GatEx could...

Gatwick Express: Should it have more stops?

I’m of the opinion that no service on the Brighton side should skip Clapham Junction at all

Gatwick Express: Should it have more stops?

I agree with those who suggest Clapham Junction could be an additional stop if it could happen. East Croydon has enough Brighton trains due to Thameslink. Also Clapham Junction is handy for those in inner South London who need Gatwick or Brighton.

    London Buses Discussion

My two cents on the proposed new Superloop routes. North Greenwich to Thamesmead: Overkill, there are already 3 routes that traverse the NG to Woolwich corridor, and in the age of the Elizabeth line I find it hard to justify 3 routes covering this corridor, the 180 definitely didn’t need to...

Gatwick Express: Should it have more stops?

The modern GatEx really isn’t anything more than a commuter express train between London & Brighton that happens to serve an airport. It skips Clapham & Croydon when I feel they should be served by it, for onward connections to other parts of South London. Should the GatEx be restructured to...

Hertford North -Should the frequency increase, with a return of the Semi-Fasts?

I do recall using a Hertford North semi fast once on a Friday visiting a friend, it was definitely handy and my mate used it regularly. He said they were thinking of making it a off peak service as well.

How could the Elizabeth line expand?

Running fast between Dartford to Abbey Wood in event of a EL extension has been on the cards, leaving Slade Green, Erith & Belvedere served by EL trains only If it’s extended to Gravesend, SE and/or Thameslink may miss out Stone, Swanscombe & Northfleet as well.

How could the Elizabeth line expand?

Beyond the Ebbsfleet/Gravesend (which I notice has been cut back to Dartford in recent years) and this new Staines/Western access link to Heathrow I’m not sure you could expand the EL further than what it already is. A part of me feels that it might’ve been better had the EL been an...

A Cambridge tube coach, is there a case for it?

We have the Oxford tube, which even after though you have fast Paddington-Oxford GWR trains exists alongside it and passenger loadings are always busy, it’s like a ordinary trunk bus route/suburban semi fast rail line Is there a case for a similar type of coach service for Cambridge? I know...

Changes to SE metro services next June

Not last summer, it was routed via Lewisham/Blackheath, fast from LB to Lewisham, then all stops via Blackheath & Woolwich to Dartford then semi fast calling only at Greenhithe, Gravesend, Strood, Medway Towns, Sittingborne, Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate...

Changes to SE metro services next June

This was pretty much the case until 2017, after which from 2018 to 2022 it was an extension of the Greenwich stopper, last year it was an extended version of the Cannon Street to Dartford service but fast from London Bridge to Lewisham, then there was the Victoria service which was similar to...

Changes to SE metro services next June

I take it it’ll run via Greenwich as Blackheath Tunnel will be closed in this period right? The Victoria to Ramsgate via Woolwich special last year was a good service, I don’t know why they can’t run Victoria trains to the Woolwich line regularly if Charing Cross is full, better than all Cannon...

    London Overground line names announced

If TfL ever took over SE metro services to Hayes, Sevenoaks and Gravesend, they should brand these as TfL Rail, add the GN inners too as well As the Lea Valley lines, the Overground network should be for the original lines (ELL, SLL, NLL, Watford & Goblin) and the Romford Shuttle should be a...

    London Overground line names announced

Don’t they now lump the Greenwich line in with the Woolwich line?

    London Overground line names announced

Regarding Southeastern, for the Dartford routes in particular in the 80s and up until the 2000s the announcements at London Bridge would start the announcement as either “the Greenwich Line service to Dartford”, “The Woolwich line service to Gillingham”, “The Bexleyheath line service to...
