  • Hi Railseeker.

Congratulations on your job offer for Croydon Trams. I have also received a conditional offer of employment and I am looking forward to starting at Croydon Trams in the near future. I've seen in a thread that you are wondering what the rota and shift patterns are like. Have you found anything out about this?

    Thanks for your help :)
    Hi railseeker
    Congratulations on your job offer
Are you able to give me a heads up to what questions you were asked during your face to face interview ? This is the first job I've applied for in over 16 years so I'm a bit nervous but want to get it right , I'd love this job !
    Kevin,

The BS1 & BS2 training course are the basic courses that any person wishing to go into S&T will need.

The courses will however give you an opening which would not be there otherwise, for agency work. In this case you would become self-employed and because you have these qualifications there is a higher likelihood that a labour agency will take you on, run you through the medical and track safety training. You may then be able to get fairly junior level work until you can demonstrate some experience sufficient to warrant you being trained up further.

BS1/2 does give you an edge over others who do not. I would suggest contacting the various agencies where you live and see what the chances are of being engaged if you come with BS1/2.

The decision has to be yours but if you can gain an interest in a job offer, then I would say that you would be advised to go for it.
