    SWR & RedJet through tickets

The Red Jet timetable changes on 27 March. I have noticed that sometimes the fares vanish for a few days when this is about to happen.

    Includes Hovercraft - Or Not?

Not when it happened to me! I had to buy a separate ticket and so claimed back for the hovercraft part of the trip.

off peak tickets and Thameslink oddity

That's sort of the same issue. You are already behind the gateline at Waterloo East with that route. If you select a route that avoids Farringdon - in affect forcing a tube connection to St Pancras and entering the barriers there, the price goes up!

off peak tickets and Thameslink oddity

Senior Railcard off-peak return St Albans to Cowes West. Outward times are not relevant, Return is for 14:25 from Cowes West. Fare is £59.65. Same thing with the super-off peak return at £48.

off peak tickets and Thameslink oddity

I travel to and from the Isle of Wight and St Albans on a fairly regular basis. I have noticed that, depending on the route I take, the same ticket is either valid or not valid! With an off-peak return, the fastest valid routes for the 14:25 red jet from Cowes require using the Elizabeth line to...

Portsmouth & Southsea / Harbour services.

I've stopped using the FastCat because of this!

    Maltese cross at Kentish Town

During the recent RMT strike on Sat 29th, trains from the North were only running to St Pancras. I needed to go to either London Bridge or the Elephant but was only offered a travelcard by the online planner. I had thought that theoretically a ticket to London Thameslink should have been valid...

Connections to Isle of Wight - minimum connection times

That's probably my fault (and probably other people as well)! I missed a connection when the train was 12 mins late so claimed delay repay because the itinery for the journey specified that particular train and connection. After some "discussions" they paid out but now all the itineries have...

    SWT armrests

That's probably it. Thanks. As to wanting to raise them - if both seats are free and toy want to spread out a bit the arm rest makes this pretty uncomfortable!

    SWT armrests

Can anyone explain why the armrest nearest the window on the trains that run to Weymouth etc is fixed rather than moveable? It looks as though it could have been movable but has been deliberately fixed.

    Ticket advice required Woolwich/Welling

As it happens I was thinking about changing at Farringdon as the direct service isn't so convenient timewise! Good to know that it shouldn't be a problem.

    Ticket advice required Woolwich/Welling

That will do nicely - it's the same price as a return to Woolwich! Thanks.

    Ticket advice required Woolwich/Welling

Thanks for the replies. I think the Dartford ticket works out slightly cheaper than the travelcard option as I have an ENCTS pass. I don't really want to travel back from Welling to Woolwich at the end of the day which would obviously be the cheapest option!
