458428 was delivered to SWR 07.11.23 and I believe is now stored at Eastleigh 458420 was delivered to SWR 27.02.24 458521/421 is the only one at Widnes tonight

Indeed. This mornings peak is the first that SWR have had 70 455s in passenger use from the fleet of 80(+2). SWR must be about hitting the buffer stops of how many 458 diagrams can be absorbed by the 40 year old 455s.

I think that this diagram has gone over from a single 458/5 to a single 450 as of this week. The 2223 Waterloo - Alton still seems to 10-car 458/5 though.

Well they have worked for 63 consecutive weekdays on the same diagram, and for 77 of the last 79. So if you arrive at Clapham at the same time as this diagram you should always see them :smile:

Waterloo was used as the regular London terminus for the Night Riviera in the early days of Eurostar at Waterloo. I don't recall when that finished, and the Night Riviera reverted to Paddington, but Waterloo was still being used in January 1997 which was the only time I used that service.
