    England's new three-tier lockdown system

Where there's a will there's a way. Take our local secondary school - each year has their own social area and designated area for eating lunch. The school have purchased those trolley things that you use to serve meals from, so each year has their own place within their social area to obtain...

    Quarantine

You are, but you buy yourself a lot of time to see what works best, you're in a much better position to introduce a vaccine (if we find one). There will come a point when a decision needs to be made but the IOM doesn't have to be making that decision at the moment. In the meantime the...

the most over the top restrictions introduced

In the summer we certainly had some balance. Most things were possible but in a different way, but some important things (to me at least) are still lacking. We need to find a way to make the NHS work for everyone, screening programs need to work. Outpatient appointments need to happen...

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Indeed. Living in a Zone B area I was having trouble working it all out. I'm not using buses at the moment with the office closed so I've postponed working it all out to a later date. I shall probably just use the app though.

Further Restrictions Announced by Johnson (22/09)

What makes you think people don't have long term issues with flu or other viruses for that matter?

Does anyone here remember the smallpox or TB vaccine

Well I don't know about you lot, but after we'd the BCG vaccination there was a three week or so period where it was "fun" to punch people on the site of the jab. I still have the scar and I managed to break my arm over the site of the original heaf test so I had to have the jab the next year...

Covid : Infection rates v death rates and a possible second wave

Of one type of cancer screening. There are plenty of other cancers with delays in diagnosis too. Just to add some context to the breast cancer screening program from https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/breast-cancer/getting-diagnosed/screening/breast-screening So somewhere in the...

Further Restrictions Announced by Johnson (22/09)

Given the Scottish strategy of attempted elimanation / wait for a vaccine there's an element of sense here. If you can only meet outside where transmission is low or in a venue that takes your details and that of your party, then it makes contact tracing much easier. You will know who has been...

    The Return to School

The schools take Public Health England advice and follow that. Whether or not that advice is consistent or not is a different matter. Locally we've had PHE advising the whole school to close, year groups to stay at home and only close contacts to isolate.

    Leisure centres reopening

Ours has lane swimming maximum of 8 people per session, 4 per lane, lanes double the normal size. It's been great. 45 mins to get in, swim and get out again and leave. If you want to swim for 44 mins and leave wet that's ok, if you want to dry off first that's also fine as long as you leave...

Is it time for a change of government and change of strategy?

Is it realistic one though? Anyway there's no point debating this as there is no way we'd be allowed to vote at the moment as it would be considered too dangerous. NB too dangerous isn't my view but it would be used as the reason to suspend elections.
