  • Hey Stigy, I currently work for S&T for network rail and have my train driving assessments coming up with Scotrail. I’m not wanting to job the gun but I saw your post about your own eyesight and mined is pretty similar +5.00 and +5.75 in both eyes is this a bar from the job as I read something saying it’s a maximum of +5.00 corrective lenses.

Hi mate, I don’t think the prescription is an automatic fail anymore as long as you can pass the eye test. They didn’t even ask me what my prescription was even though I took a copy with me. It may depend on the company but I’m pretty sure it’s standard across the board. The face you’re in a safety critical role already I assume, would help?

The eye test for safety critical roles tend to be pretty standard. Good luck!
Hi did you sit the OPC test? How did you find it??i made a few late clicks on the last one think I might have flunked it as I imagine most would nt make any errors
do you think I should go to the stage 2 with other TOC then contact MTR if I’m successful and let them know or should I just cancel the stage 2 and focus on MTR Glop (I passed my first assessment to MtR level apart from the GLOP )
So I have assessment coming up but I already pass to MTR enhance level apart from the GLOp which I believe I have to redo ..but I applied fore another TOC few weeks back and didn’t have to do stage 1 apart from the tones listening ...
So I have stage 2 next with the other TOC before my stage 1 again with MTR .
