    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

If you're referring to running single line over the "unaffected" track between Arnside and Grange I'd be incredibly unconfident running anything over there at present looking at what's a few feet over from it!

Podcast: Signals to Danger - Railway disasters in the UK

I have thought about bundling a couple of similar ones together before so that could work. In other news there's a new round up out; On this week's RAIB Roundup we take a look at some recent incidents the RAIB is taking notice of, the recent spate of derailments of passenger trains, and we chat...

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

I also thought this, then wondered whether the initial collapse/impact/derailment (mechanics still very much unclear) took enough momentum out that they were able to run over the suspended section without actually leaving the rails. Potentially just strong and sturdy enough to prevent the...

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

I'm very much on the fence about it, it's one thing to discuss what's viable and potential reasons, and another for those theories to be touted as absolute truths prior to anything official being announced. I think healthy debate is absolutely OK at this stage as long as the finger-waggling is...

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

Looking at the track damage in rear I think it would be a big ask of any suspension design to keep the vehicles all on the track, upright and in line is a good result though!

I didn't realise! Not impossible to amend but challenging to match the exact sound after post production etc is done!

Any way to check if the ticket has already been used?

You should be able to see issue date on a TOD, I'm not 100% but I think issue location may also be available.

Notice from Northern Rail - failure to produce a valid ticket

My read of the CoT is that the line about any operator could refer to the operator responsible for the journey and not a "travel on any train" situation. In that case it would place an obligation on the operator (Avanti) to make arrangements, which might include arranging ticket acceptance. It...

Podcast: Signals to Danger - Railway disasters in the UK

What would you be after in terms of an abridged version? It's not a request I've heard before. For context you may not have however, there is some significant work involved in scripting (normally around 8k words), recording and then post-production, editing and uploading etc. It would be a...

Podcast: Signals to Danger - Railway disasters in the UK

Routine post to let you know we're still churning out content. By "we're" I do still mean "I'm", no vast media empire to report upon at this stage!

Just as an FYI, part three of Ladbroke is now available and finishes up part 1 of the Cullen report, before taking a look at the creation of the ORR, RSSB and RAIB
