  • I am done. I am finished. My absolute hero has been pushed to his breaking point and I will never watch Good Morning Britain again. They’ll be lost without him.

Without piers, there will be no point watching good morning britian but this is a video of piers on bgt.

I’ve just found out Geoff Marshall is considerably older than my parents, and now I feel young

He does look young for his age. I wonder if he dyes his hair.

I don't think so, though he did say in yesterday's quiz that he once dyed his hair blonde in his 20s but it didn't work out too well as his mates kept ignoring him when he bumped into them on the street because they didn't recognise him!

My garden is three foot deep in snow... I don’t like snow
    hexagon789

I'm afraid I just find that amusing, as the snow up here consisted of a pitiful thin layer of powder that melted away almost as soon as it fell!

    Swap?? ;)

You lucky sod. My garden has not had any snow in at least 7 years. I would rather like some to be fair
Very sad to hear about the untimely and sudden passing of Celia Drummond, a voice of my childhood

@TT-ONR-NRN Have you requested access to the 'Automated Announcements' subforum? If not, one of the moderators is in charge of it (I can't remember who unfortunately!) and they should be able to give you access if you send them a message.

There's an entire thread dedicated to her on there if you're interested.

I would love to join that, thanks. Announcements are the only area where I really do like to get geeky.

Nothing inherently wrong with being outspoken ;)

It's amazing how quickly 4 years passes - I've been here slightly over 4 years and it doesn't feel like it, more like 2.

I once had a horsemeat pizza in Italy and loved it. I feel like I’ll never be forgiven by the British for crossing that shocking taboo.

Nothing wrong with that! Other cultures eat some very interesting things, and would probably say the same about us!

I think the ”British taboo” is more the fact that supermarkets put horse meat into our lasagnes without declaring it on the packet...

The taboo was around long before supermarkets sold lasagne

I didn't mind the azumas between Darlington & London last week. Seem to be slightly better seats than the TransPennine Express class 802s, which I was glad to get off between Newcastle and Darlington.

I still haven't tried an Azuma(!), I did enjoy my two IC225 trips last year though. Still the York/Leeds workings at the very least.
115/115 complete - HALLELUJAH! I never have to go on a dire 700 again.

I still irratingly haven't managed to tick off an entire fleet of anything; the same units always seem to show up...

I could definitely mark off all the 314s and likely all or most of ScotRail's 156s and 170s but I don't take numbers so I don't really know exactly
As of today I’ve cleared the Gatwick Express for haulage. Is that good or am I just stupid with money? haha

With careful planning, you don't need lots of money to do them. I've had 23/27 of them on a Travelcard :)

It is sad, I will miss VT - feels like the real end of an era. I have happy memories with both Virgin and indeed GNER for that matter.

One day, Virgin Trains will be back. It's possible that they will compete in bidding for franchises when Stagecoach's restriction will end soon, or that Virgin will form the group with another company.
Yess - 221103! I’ve been on all seventy six Virgin Trains. Best TOC - tick!

Well done! The irony being it's now owned by First and not Virgin! :)
