Do we think Wednesday's announcement will have any effect on the workings of the task force in light of the fact that no specific mention was made about Manchester capacity in the alternative schemes.

The planning docs indicate that the Liverpool bound platform can fully accommodate a 6 car train but the Manchester bound only five and a half. How does that fit with a 6 car 323
I thought those works were to be finished in 2025. What is not clear is where the turn back sidings at Salford Central and to the east of Victoria are to be located
Stalybridge already has a turn back for Victoria
This was put in in 2012 platform 5. Platform 2 can also be used as a turn back for Piccadilly or Victoria but is probably too short for the future.

The NAO report states that stages E1 W1 and W2a (Stalybridge) are under construction. What does W2a consist of and is any work taking place.
