  • Going really well. Nearly halfway through the classroom stage. Did my first passenger service drive with a DI last week. It's hard work but worth it. Yeah my DMI wasn't bad. Two people normally sit in. I had a DI and a DM. Know about the company, how many services they do. Where they go. Types of traction. A decent reason other than money for wanting the job. They then asked 6 to 10 questions about NTS that's non technical skills. Examples of times you've dealt with situations etc. Mine was quite relaxed. Much more so than the MMI.
Hey Yellowcupra how's the training going?,I passed the assessment center and have my DMI in a few weeks, can you remember much from yours?
Cool that's good news after such a long wait!, I'm trying to get in, assessment with GTR booked for next month, found this forum really useful in finding out what to expect on the day and lucky to have a brother who drives for GN even though he cant remember much lol
I've got a 2001 Ibiza Cupra R in yellow and that can be a tight squeeze at times lol, have you started your training with GTR?
I've given references and guess I'm in a pool now waiting for a start date.
At my medical, bupa kings cross I ticking to say I'd had the surgery and did a quick standard eye test. Just read the chart starting at the top going down as far as I could. Read a few of the letters on the bottom line. Once the nurse has done all the tests your details are given to a doctor. He does a few more basic mobility tests and providing he is happy will sign you off fit. I'd only had my surgery a month ago so had to wait 3 months. I had a start date of August 22. So frustrated I'm still waiting.
I repeatedly asked my recruitment girl if I needed anything from my surgeon but she never replied. I then got an email requesting references so must have passed.
So I'd say you're safe. Providing your vision is good and you're honest you'll be fine. Sorry to waffle, just thought the more I tell you the better you'll understand. Cheers
Hi yellowcupra I would like to ask you a question if you don't mind. I saw in your posts you had laser eye surgery. I am in the process of applying as well for TOCs and I also had laser eye surgery. What I want to ask is what was the process in the medical. did you just tick the box about the surgery and then they asked you to read the chart? Did the doctor there examined your eyes? or did they want a report from your doctor with your medical files? the reason i ask is because I had the operation abroad and I dont have the medical files with me. If they only want me to report it and tick a box then I dont have to worry. Otherwise I'll have to get a report from an eye doctor etc. I also noted they asked you to wait three months after the operation. Again did they want a letter from your doctor for that? Thank you if you can help me
