I'm unable to view that link (I refuse to have a twitter account) but I assume you mean it lists the buses currently with Tiger that Transdev are retaining- with all others being moved on?

You don't need a Twitter account to see the image.

People keep saying this, but if I click on a twitter link on here (on Android) it demands I sign in and blocks the tweet until I do. Tweets should really be subject to the same rules as other links, with at least a description of what is in the tweet.

In other YT news, despite Turnshaws Road in Kirkburton being closed for surface dressing, buses are still using that road and being escorted by road workers meaning long delays. Surely just avoiding Highburton entirely would make more sense for one day only... but it seems the "Highburton Mafia" have spoken again!

They are subject to the same rules!

Try opening the link in a browser rather than via the Twitter platform :)

Information contained within tweets should be posted within quote tags. It should be noted that text contained within images is completely unreadable to those with disabilities who use certain devices or software in order to read the forum. Ideally, a transcription of the text should be provided. Of course, it would have been helpful if the person who tweeted that list also realised this. Do please avoid posting images of text in future.

Transdev really need a depot or outstation somewhere in Otley or Ilkley.
It may be an obvious point; but I think a depot on some land close to the Airport would be the best idea. Great for the Airport runs, and of course Otley/ Ilkley locals.

Essentially yes, it also includes the details for the 6 e200s that have been recently purchased

The reason why they didn't choose the Airport is that land is at a premium (and a price to match) and it's more difficult to recruit in that area.

It's less than 10 miles to Otley, about 5 to the Airport, and Idle provides a good base for the tendered services and other opportunities in Bradford and parts of Leeds.

For anyone wanting a peek at the new Team Pennine E200s they'll be on display in Huddersfield tomorrow (Friday 23rd).

I was going to post a link to the Transdev website with details, but it's still disappointingly difficult to navigate. Still no mention of Team Pennine, just lots of links to various brands which mean absolutely nothing to a none the wiser passenger!

Huddersfield - we’re coming!!
We’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow from 10am in town at Macauley Street, outside the Plumbers Arms.
Our new-look buses and our amazing team will be on hand to meet you - find out about all our plans and grab a few freebies too!
Screenshot 2021-07-22 at 19.06.14.png

I'm finding those cartoon graphics quite odd and almost sinister looking.... think it's the eyes...

Considering the state of the current Yorkshire Tiger fleet these E200s in a bright, clean and fresh livery will be an immediate improvement.

There have of course been some hilariously embarrassing tweets from the usual suspects, even by the low standards already set by the usual anti-Transdev brigade. I won't post any here for fear of giving them the attention they seemingly desire.

Or if you can't wait, a photograph of the vehicles can be found on Twitter at https://twitter.com/alextransdev/status/1418163687169331204

(Link contains a photo of three Enviro 200s in the Team Pennine pink and purple livery - one with Team Pennine branding and the other pair with Denby Darts route branding. They appear to have personalised registrations ending 'TDV' with 'Pxx' prefixes.)

It’s worth mentioning that the Transdev website is getting another rebuild, assumably to make it more user friendly to those unfamiliar with their brands.

In regards to the cartoons, I agree, the eyes make them seem kinda creepy. There are versions with the eyes the other way around which look a lot better.

And yes, I’ve also noticed a peak in “anti-Transdev” activity, likely due to the imminent take over of Yorkshire Tiger. One went as far as to run a poll of Yorkshire bus operators to see who really is the best. Suffice to say, Transdev won so that backfired.

Are the cartoons supposed to be allusions to famous locals? I'm fairly certain the one next to the TARDIS is Jodie Whittaker, the one with the pipe might be Harold Wilson, and the footballer looks to be wearing a Huddersfield Town shirt.

Good spot! Zooming in it's obviously the Tardis! At first glance it looks like someone knitting!

I had noticed that... possibly the most anti-Transdev twitter user I've ever come across (and can't seem to understand why Alex Hornby and all of the brand accounts have blocked him...)

To any normal passenger this looks like it's going to be a vast improvement on the mess that Yorkshire Tiger has ended up in.

The character at the back wearing the toque is holding what seems to be a pie - presumably a reference to the ten giant Denby Dale pies baked over the last couple of hundred years.

There's a reference to those on the back of one of the buses for the 233.

I wonder if one of the other female ones is supposed to be Cersei Lannister, as Lena Headey is from Highburton?

Posters have appeared on bus stops in Skelmanthorpe advertising the coming change, though using "up to every 30 minutes" as a selling point is a bit disingenuous as that's not an improvement on what happens now. Not being "anti-Transdev" but I don’t like dishonest advertising regardless of who is doing it.

For those of us that aren't so well versed in bus types by name, are any of the retained list deckers? It wouldn't surprise me if they aren't, but if that's the case they'll probably need to double up on the runs at school times.

As for anti-Transdev people, pretty much any transport company of any sort of size is going to get enthusiasts who are fanboys and others who become obsessively negative. See also Virgin Trains, who had an army of fanboys and others who found their "chummy" approach cringeworthy. Probably not a reflection on how well the company is run, but definitely one of the reasons I refuse to use Twitter!

No vested interest here....

I would say maintaining a frequency is a selling point, unless they are making out that it is an improvement when its not of course?

6 deckers, the Spectra, the Gemini and the 4 Lowlanders as far as I can tell.

I suppose it is, but it's a sorry state of affairs when "we aren't making cuts" is a positive!
It's better than some Transdev publicity which has claimed improvements of new buses whilst not mentioning cuts in frequency.

(disclaimer: generally a fan of Transdev, but when they're positive about changes which make the service worse, I'm unimpressed; hoping we're about to see many improvements at Tiger)

Keighley have now got a horrific wrap on one of their deckers, promoting the new Under 19 Metro card that allows people to travel on any bus in West Yorkshire.

Apparently Transdev's own DayTrippers for U19s aren't available in West Yorkshire as the Metro tickets have replaced them. Or depending on where you look or who you speak to, maybe they haven't. It's hard to find a definitive answer!

From @AlexTransdev Twitter
Great to join with @TracyBrabin, @groves_kim and fellow operators to launch our new, better price & fare package to U19s delivered through M-CARD - making travel cheaper & easier, no matter who runs the bus, here in West Yorkshire.

Keighley's publicity about this mentions they're still selling half-fare KDays, but doesn't mention the DayTrippers.

If you are travelling further afield outside of West Yorkshire, such as to and from Skipton, you can still buy a K-DAY and get unlimited travel all day after 9am for just £2.70. Buy this on the app or from your driver.

It's not clear how much cheaper than now these fares will be. I'm fairly sure the new £1.80 fare from Keighley to Ilkley isn't far off half the adult fare based on the one time I've done that journey as a single in the last few years. The day ticket fare of £2.60 (£2.50 on the app) is only just less than the adult version bought on the MCard app (£5.50). The price of the adult version comes down to £5 if bought in 10s.

The U19 MyDay was launched at that price in 2018. Good that it's had no rises, but I'm not sure this is making travel cheaper.

EDIT - it seems it's gone up to £2.75 and now come down again. Buying in bulk reduces the price to £2.25. Looks like most of the savings are for longer period tickets

Ticket type Ticket price (Before 25 July)Ticket Price (After 25 July)
1 MyDay ticket (bought on the bus) £2.75£2.60
1 MyDay ticket (bought in advance) £2.75£2.50
3 MyDay tickets (bought in advance) £7.95£7.20
5 MyDay tickets (bought in advance) £13.00£11.75
10 MyDay tickets (bought in advance) £25.00£22.50
MyWeek £10.30£9.00
MyMonth £37.80£35.00

I called in at the launch earlier, picked up a flier and a couple of packs of jellybeans (which will come in handy as emergency sugar). Asked about the deckers, was told the ones being retained are staying "for now". Also asked if the 83 and 84 will become D2 and D3, but nobody seemed to know. One of the representatives said they are assuming that they may be renumbered as more vehicles become pink, which seemed odd to me as it would involve changing the number in between timetable changes. Time will tell I suppose.

As far as I can tell, a small number of Solos, Tempos and maybe the Versas will be refurbished with the rest being replaced and sent for scrap. Many of the current drivers as well as Blazefield management have admitted that half the existing fleet isn’t fit for the road…

I'd have thought the Centros might be staying, as they're the only vehicles (afaik) that have been at Waterloo from new. Though as a passenger I'll be glad to see the back of them!

Well from what I can gather, they’re not on the refurb list. And looking at them I can see why. Kinda sad the Cadets, Commanders, and Spectra are all eventually being scrapped

New Transdev web site has gone live https://www.transdevbus.co.uk/ - once you have navigated down the page pass the glossy video each operation gets a graphic link with Team Pennine included and on which a bus has Calder something branding

Specifically, that bus says "Calder Country".

If I has to guess, a successor to the "Calder Cubs" sub-brand?
