This might be of interest with a railway link:

Invoking Betteridges Law of Headlines: Was the reason for the murder of the owner of Scoveston Manor near MIlford Haven related to the compulsory purchase of the land for the Gulf Waterstone oil refinery railway link?

As the article itself identifies "gaps [in the story] are often filled with rumour, half-truths and make believe", which pretty-much sums-up the idea floated that Cooper's actions were in any way related to the compulsory purchase of land - there has been both a drama-documentary and a documentary on television this year about the the crimes committed by John Cooper, which give a clear picture of his motivations.
