323 at Doncaster?

Update further today Tuesday the 6th April 2021 on the 5q23 1123 soho tmd Depot to Doncaster wagon works.
Running around 7 minutes early through tamworth complete with full sound 37884 took 323201 west Midlands unit for overhaul.
So that means another four to go. With 323216 and 323215 completed. So when all 7 have been sent and completed.
Looks like we will now which ones will be staying then.

Update Friday the 4th June 2021.
To repost on this thread for information relevant to this thread was the fact that 57305 took 3232221 to Doncaster.
Was this the 5th one to go to Doncaster for modifications.
However 323221 is now at Doncaster works for further work and modifications.

It’s the usual case of ‘unit goes for normal works attention = Northern must be getting all 26’ when the real answer is ‘nothing to see here, nothing announced to come to that conclusion, it’s just a unit getting normal works attention’.

It amazes me how some people’s minds work when they see a train at a works away from their normal operating area. Imagine if they’d been around 40 years ago. The 50’s would definitely be moving to the Eastern region because they’re being refurbed at Donny.

It was and around 10 minutes early
through tamworth high level today Wednesday 23rd june 2021.
Hauled by 37884.
Makes a change from its usual scrap or storage moves though.
However 37884 as it usually does with complete surround sound.

Don’t quote me on this as I’m not 100% sure, but I think it was 9 units to be done. 204 is the 6th one in anyways, I saw the move yesterday.

Update furthe today Friday the 06th August 2021. 57310 Took 323240 to Doncaster on time through wilmcote on time.
On the 509L 1122 soho L.M.D to Doncaster works move.
No 7 323 to go.
Only two more to go.
However out off interest today saw another 323 being dragged by 57310 earlier on on 508L 0835 tyseley L.M.D to Soho from visiting the wheelathe does anyone know which one it was.
Have tried asking in the non urgent trust thread.
Any information on this extra move from tyseley to soho would be good.

57310 dragged 323240 from Soho LMD - Doncaster on Friday.

Not really. Network Rail and Porterbrook designed a match box that fits in place of the air cleaner on the 57/3s that are now leased by ROG. Is a pretty simple "match" really for westcode braked EMUs.

I knew they had a coupler fitted and could control the brakes but wasn't the 57 originally fitted with a Dellner and the 323 is tightlock? How is that connection working?

All 26 will now be transferring to northern after this week's electrification announcement
