I presume the other Manchester stations have different CRS codes. Becuase it would be pretty silly to copy Piccadilly and have their codes be MAN.
Every National Rail station has its own CRS code. For historic reasons, a few have two CRS codes though the second is disregarded in all but a few systems.

Would that mean Piccadilly could also have the code MCP? Which IMO is the better code if true.

Not being familiar with the codes, I was a bit disappointed that Bristol Temple Meads is not ‘BTM’ as sometimes referred to colloquially around here, as the service to Brighton (BTN) would qualify. Sadly it’s ‘BRI’.

Manchester Piccadilly has been MAN since the early 1980s and is more easily recognised as being for Manchester than MCP would.

The reason that some stations have two CRS codes is a legacy of a system that no longer exists; there should then be no new occurrences of that in the future. Which is just as well, as changing the codes that identify stations is not an easy process due to the sheer number of operating and retail systems that make use of them.

Is this separate from the minor CRS code in the timetable feed? I notice that Worcestershire Parkway has WOP and WPH listed there, and I assume that's too recent for the legacy system.

On the original topic, I could only find one more example which uses adjacent letters:

Darlington (DAR)-Carlisle (CAR)

There are a few more which have one different letter, though:

Brighton (BTN)-Fratton (FTN)
Cardiff Central (CDF)-Cardiff Bay (CDB)
Crewe (CRE)-Preston (PRE)
Nottingham (NOT)-Newark Castle (NCT)
Ryde St Johns Road (RYR)-Ryde Pier Head (RYP)
Swansea (SWA)-Swindon (SWI)

I've ignored anything which is only there for engineering works, as you get all sorts of strange journeys then. I did notice this rail replacement bus:

Wadhurst (WAD)-West St Leonards (WLD)

There's a connection from Tonbridge to Wadhurst, but not from West St Leonards to (say) Hastings.

It is the minor CRS Code. Two codes for Worcestershire Parkway was not strictly necessary, but there was one system that still insisted on making use of minor CRS Codes thanks to a misinterpretation of the design spec many years ago.
