I have just read that nobody will be able to enter Israel without a booster jab. Now, I don't wish to go to Israel for now, but it raises a wider question. What if other countries start a similar policy, yet we are not allowed or entitled to have the booster. Will we be confined to the UK for the foreseeable future. I've already been vaccinated 5 months, so how long will my original Vaccination be valid for until not having a booster may be used against us, specifically in foreign travel?

It is really too soon to know what this is going to look like long term - we really don't yet know what the "waning" looks like for the vaccines and how often we will be advised to boost simply because enough time hasn't elapsed to gather the data.

Israel is not the only one to set "expiry" on vaccinated status - Austria also only recognises it for 180 days.

If these policies continue , which may or may not happen, then at worst you would be able to purchase the booster as you can with other shots needed for travel (or indeed the flu jab if you are not on a priority group)

This is a bit harsh as one cannot get a booster for 6 months here in the UK

Harsh? Its bloody bonkers considering that most countries haven't even thought about a booster programme, some of the makers are unsure if they are need for anyone other than the vulnerable, and the WHO are pleading with countries to concentrate on getting the world it's first vaccines.

This is precisely why I've declined a booster jab for now. My only vulnerability is being a NHS worker. I'm inclined to believe the creators of the vaccine as to it's lasting effeciecy, and won't be part of the booster rabbit hole that's purely politically driven. I've had 2x jabs and I've had Covid. That's my immunity sorted. I cannot morally countenance having another dose when so much of the developing world has had none.
