Am going to do, as occasionally: am quite sure that what I'm going to post, is wrong -- but might get the ball rolling...

Trying to run through German port names known to me: there's Kiel (of Canal fame). Spelt backwards (heading in wrong direction?) it nearly makes Leek. While that is not at present a British passenger station; the Churnet Valley Railway folks are very keen somehow to restore the line into Leek and have a station, in some sort, in the town; and their trains run to / through the location of Leekbrook Junction; which at one time featured officially in the timetable, as a halt...

Ok, I hope others will agree that @Caboose Class has narrowly missed out on the last two answers, so this question is exclusively for him/her. However I will make it as difficult as possible.

The name of the yellow of an egg has four letters. A change from left to right of the third letter will reveal this station.

Small clues: There used to be a grand old Duke from here but now there's just a randy one.

Anywhere near you?

The York of an egg is white - or the York of an egg are white?
Thank you @Loppylugs

On a good day, I can add two and two; and come up with four; twice in succession -- so count me out.

Hint 1: Loss of log base might result in a sonic boom from this salubrious starlet (anag).

Hint 2: The solution to the clue is not 108e
