All Southern stock, Class 33,71,73,74 worked in multiple with all Southern EMUs built from 1951 to 1975. It was a dream world. Even the latter Class 442/455/456 worked to a degree! Class 73 motor bogies were the same as those on the 4REP and the motors the same on the Class 442 being ex REP

Day 2 is Mk 2E day, I have 2 FOs and 2 TSOs added this year with a buffet and brake coach replacing my MR Airfix / Mainline coaches

Those look quite nice too. The little details such as the red springs and the stickers in the windows make them seem that much more realistic!

They have lights too :) and no I didn't call them coffins!

Day 3 is for Mk2a. I have given up on getting more as the prices sky rocketed, so I just have 4 in b/g

@reddragon - I missed that you said they had lights. Did you do that or were they factory fitted?

I now have 2 steam, 2 diesel, 8 coaches & 5 wagons on pre-order

I have a new arrival and plan to change a 3rd steam order to an EMU

Nice. There always used to be a pair of those BFKs marshalled van section to van section in the middle of the eight coach Waterloo - Exeter trains. They always looked very comfortable.

Very good way to transport Christmas puddings.

Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier. Those all look really nice - they're just containers I know, but seeing those reminds me of many happy days sat at Banbury watching the various freights go through and counting the wagons. Great fun and just shows how powerful the big freight locos today are!

Maroon Mk1s are probably some of my favourite coaches given the number of them I've seen on heritage railways. There's just something so wonderfully quaint and vintage yet modern to them (well, modern if you've spent too long watching films about them from when they were new - guilty as charged, your honour ;)).

Those viaduct 'construction' pictures at the beginning look fantastic, I really wish I had the patience to build something with seemingly such a high level of complexity. The train sets are a marvel to behold in my books too. :D

Obviously the most important coaches in any train ;)
Never experienced Mk1s on the mainline but those are definitely giving me some sort of odd nostalgia for the days when trains had walk-up buffets. I was thinking the same thing the other day actually about HSTs. But you don't get the funny moments of people getting stuck behind a buffet as you do with the trollies now!

There used to be a train on summer weekdays down here (a Manchester to Plymouth service I think) which had a mk1 RMB tucked right behind the 47. It was a very nice way to sample the sea wall on a sunny evening. :)

That sounds lovely! Might have to try and recreate that at some point. I've got a couple of buffet cars to make it even better too - just if I can find the bogie for one of them...

Those look nice and the ballast loads look good!
All 6 of these have a load, the only ones so far.

day 9 blood & custard! 4 additions excluding catering cars! These have replaced my Mainline versions of which just 1 remains on eBay.
