"Wales ‘getting absolutely screwed’ by UK Government over transport spending"

I doubt it. It would likely mess it all up at Talerddig.

"Wales ‘getting absolutely screwed’ by UK Government over transport spending"

Not sure how you can pass on the move with RETB, old or new? You would still have to stop at Fron to get the token, whereas you are at line speed now.

Has the line between Northolt Junction and Old Oak Common Junction closed?

Still boils down to whether you could get to Paddington or not, the general consensus still seems to be no, either planned or unplanned.

Has the line between Northolt Junction and Old Oak Common Junction closed?

It is closed effectively from the Tarmac Park Royal sidings. It is down to the changes having to be made around the Old Oak Common lane area and the bridge over the road. The last plan I saw has the line going into its own separate platform at OOC with no connection to the GWML.

"Wales ‘getting absolutely screwed’ by UK Government over transport spending"

Somewhere had to be the trial and the Cambrian happened to fit at the time. As noted, without the other tinkering at the edges you would still be stuck with the ability to only run the old timetables.

    East-West Rail: Progress and updates

This forum would have wet itself if Oxford Bicester had been wired when built without a single EMU using it for years.

Spans over the WCML are just a concrete box as far as I am aware.

New station/bus interchange for Bow Street

Carno cannot be done cheaply due to where all the loops are and how the timetable is built around them. Bow St was easy as you just eat into the turnround at the end.

New station/bus interchange for Bow Street

Politics. The Welsh Government like schemes like this.

NPR - Phasing Plan & Initial Routes Agreed

Depends on what the through route dwell time would be, i suspect it wouldnt be less than 3 or 4 at somewhere like Piccadilly. If there is another driver waiting you could arguably do the reversal in the same time. If not then it depends on the length of train, but 5 or 6 I would expect.

NPR - Phasing Plan & Initial Routes Agreed

Just how much do you think could be done in a 76 hour weekend? considering taking the block, getting the equipment in, getting the rock out, making sure everything was stable and then opening the railway back up again? Bear in mind we have about 7 bank holidays a year. You would be looking at...

Presumably you are voicing your concerns to Andrew Haines that the network is not being maintained?

New Bilton (Rugby) spur - what's it for ?

It has no use at the moment, but will in the next year or so as it will be used for HS2 spoil trains. The Q paths are already in the timetable and RealtimeTrains.

    Low Speed Derailment Sheffield 11/11

They can probably cover themselves with that until it gets to the point that its clear it isn't going to go back in and it has to be removed formally. It shown in the sectional appendix.

It is not a given its happening yet, it will still be lights on sticks with an overlay anyway.

Bishton Crossing Signal Box - rotting away.

"Can't be bothered" is likely down to it being very close to the Up Main and would likely need a possession to do it in. That leaves you 2150 Saturday to 1000 Sunday to get it done if its a main line weekend, or 0010 to 0750 for the all line block, or 0001 Sunday to 0500 Monday or 2215 - 0605...
