Rail Travel Vouchers (RTVs) and E-tickets

Can they only be fulfilled to e-ticket at an LNER booking office. My understanding was that tickets with Underground validity couldn't be issued as an e-ticket at all.

Rail Travel Vouchers (RTVs) and E-tickets

So for example a ticket from York to London Terminals won't be issued to e-ticket due to the interavailability Finsbury Park - Kings Cross - Old Street - Moorgate?

Strike-affected journey on Sunday - options?

I would suggest seeking assistance at Burton booking office. It is entirely plausible that EMR will agree to pass the ticket via Derby to St Pancras and provide appropriate endorsement.

Compensation for needing to catch earlier service

I think this is one I would be tempted to refer to Transport Focus rather than the ombudsman. Morally, I agree with the argument that you should get some, though contractually I am not sure you are entitled to anything.

Why are some stations only partially barriered?

I agree with the premise of locking it off, but how do they get around it being a public right of way? I don't think you could barrier platform 7 fully, but I often wonder whether you could safely put barriers at the bottom of the stairs to the middle bridge, so as to maintain the right of way...

    WITNESS STATEMENT RECEIPT

Anything involving a penalty fare is now off the table. The odds are that you will get an intention to prosecute letter. The chances of getting the opportunity to settle and the settlement amount vary depending on which train operating company you were stopped by. What I would do now is take...

[Trivia] Passenger Trains That Often Carry No Passengers For Entire Route

06:10 Cleethorpes - Barton often has a couple on.

    2024 Intercity Charters

I remember 86s at Leeds on parcels and the odd charter. Has one been to Bradford or Skipton before? The latter seems less likely as the were restrictions on power hungry traction going there in the early electrified days.

My son travelled on gwr under a child ticket when he was 16 so should have had an adult ticket. Digusting in itself as he is not an adult.

In theory GWR have six months to lay papers before a court, so yes, perfectly legal to send a settlement offer after four months. In all likelihood, your son has committed a criminal offence, though we would need details of the journey made to be sure. That being said, it is unusual for the...

    Bus fare cap beyond election

Cheers. The split reg services feel a bit like the operator having their cake and eating it, but if the scheme allows it then so be it. On the through ticketing between non linked services, previously there was no through fare from Hull to Foxwood, although I am not sure the 12 was an EYMS...

More high quality Merseyrail ticketing staff!

Given that the passenger had already been put out by the booking office at their originating station being closed and therefore having to delay themselves to see the RPI, surely the good customer service would have been to offer the Safeway ticket on paper rather than redirect to the Central...

    Bus fare cap beyond election

How is the reimbursement calculated (not necessarily after exact figures)? I have noticed that some drivers issue all tickets to the terminus, claiming that it is £2 anyway. Does this result in the operator being reimbursed more money than if the driver issued the correct ticket? Also, how is...

    TFL fare evasion

As a 19year old student,it could well be worth looking at whether it is worthwhile you getting an 18+ Oyster. If so, apply for one and include the application in the response to your verification letter. This will at least show TfL that you are less likely to reoffend...

    Disappointing London Overground

Presumably eligible for delay compensation and I would have thought a refund of the service bus fare due to the effective cancellation of the rail replacement.

traveling from one station to another, but not leaving and then travelling back...

It would be more expensive than contactless or PAYG, but if you got a paper day return from Norwood Junction to London Bridge you wouldn't need to pass through the gate line at London Bridge. Would cost £10.80, available from the booking office at Norwood Junction.

If a train is "sold out" but I have a valid day return, can I board?

Perfectly valid, there isn't an evening peak restriction on either the Avanti or the any permitted ticket. You just can't reserve a seat. Just turn up to the booking office at Milton Keynes on the day and they will issue the ticket.

Was fined this morning because I have bought a ticket whilst the train was in station

The cancelled train was the 07:31 to Blackpool, ie in the other direction. Guessing you misheard the announcement. The trouble you have is that your ticket is an advance for the 08:14, therefore valid on that train only. The correct course of action was for the travelling ticket inspector to...

Do National Rail have powers to prosecute?

Would a fraud offence require actually using the railcard to be complete? Just obtaining the railcard without using it sees no good nor service obtained nor does the railway incur a loss.

Penzance-Aberdeen 1S45 - Diversion (1/07/23) Other possible diversions to extend the longest Journey?

Off the top of my head, and limited to what Cross Country crews sign: Taunton - Bristol via Westbury (not sure if XC currently sign this) Cheltenham - Birmingham via Worcester / Old Hill Kings Norton - New Street via Camp Hill Birmingham - Burton via Lichfield Derby - Chesterfield via Toton...
