I noticed yesterday on my way home that at least 1 Class 333 had yellow passenger doors at both cab ends, and I've seen similar whilst walking along the Leeds Liverpool Canal. I don't have the unit number, and the that I've two that I've seen may be the same one but I was just wondering if...

Incident At Warrington Bank Quay 06/06/23

I've just left Warrington Bank Quay station on the request of station staff, owning to an incident at the station. I don't know a lot more but passengers are being sent to Central for south and east bound services. And I can confirm staff at Central are aware and accepting tickets at the gates.

Moderator note split from: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/tpe-franchise-to-move-to-olr.248432/ Have any of you been paying any attention to that this government is doing? They are starting to allow a decline in passenger services, franchises are falling left, right and centre, big...

    Clapping for the NHS

Moderator note: Split from https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/some-sanctimonious-and-judgemental-individuals-ar-shaming-law-abiding-citizens.203469 I haven't done that since the first time. Whilst I admire the healthcare staff, I would rather people dedicate their time to sending a message...

Furloughed / Self Employed Workers Discussion

Following some discussions with family members on the issue, I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread specifically on the issues arising for workers currently furloughed by the crisis, and for the self employed. One family member yesterday asked me when they might expect to receive...

Potential for battery tech to avoid "awkward" electrification on TransPennine

The only problem with a hybrid railway is that you end up dragging around heavy diesel engines around for relatively small sections. This is passible for extensions to places of electric mains where it is simply not viable to wire. But for services like Liverpool-Newcastle across the North...

Aire & Wharfe Valley Future Capacity Ideas

Following a suggestion on the Leeds Capacity thread, I've set this one up to explore people's ideas on how to best provide sufficient capacity for the Aire & Wharfe lines now & in the future. These two lines serve areas that are seeing considerable housing developments, and with their primarily...

Delay Repay is compensation gone mad and ignores how the real world works

Moderator note: split from Refusal of compensation This thread is rapidly descending into la-la land, from controlling the movement of large birds which often roam over many acres of land, to making indestructible trains that.can not be damaged by large objects whilst travelling at speeds...

    Train uncoupled at Leeds

There are problems for services this afternoon at Leeds, with lots of services currently delayed due to a failure at the western throat. Mod Note: Posts #1 - #8 originally from this thread. The double use of the 70 route number could get interesting as the First Leeds 70 stops outside the train station (or will do again once the re-cladding of the old City House is done). But hey ho, joined up thinking and all that...
