The "Durham Coast Fliers" - Popular? No stop Hartlepool?

Used one of these last night - 1820 off Newcastle (thanks to the 1845 not running)… was pleasantly surprised to see a very decent load, probably three quarters full seat wise. 2/3’s of those got off at Thornaby with the rest to Middlesbrough. Was a rather pleasant run nonstop from Sunderland to...

Rail Replacement buses - seeking help to identify makes and models.

    The coach isn’t a TC9, that’s a Volvo Panther 3… I don’t know which type but it looks like a B8R, could be a B11R

    Arriva (Beds, Bucks, Herts)

Nowhere near as bad as this but Redcar in North East regularly missing 4/5 boards every day, from a PVR of around 40.

    Arriva (Beds, Bucks, Herts)

I’d imagine if supervisors have marked these journeys as cancelled earlier in the day and then they find a driver/vehicle last minute to run it then it may not be ‘uncancelled’ on Ticketer.

    Volvo B8RLE MCV Evora

Depending on what kind of work you’re going to use them on, you might find you get significantly more uptime with a B8RLE over an E200…

    Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire

They promised on Twitter they would run the 1840 (albeit from Ulverston) and 2140 return… which they did - eventually!

    Not Stopping in correct position

Had an interesting one back in the summer (so not caused by poor adhesion) where I think the driver simply forgot about a station and at the point they realised even a full emergency brake we overshot by a coach length. Easily solved by locking the front coach doors and opening the rest then we...

    Rail Replacement Contract Changes

Chiltern is managed by Stagecoach but unsure how long they’ve been doing that

TPE seat reservations non-existent today, is it a Sunday thing?

Yeah had the same thing traveling back from Manchester Airport today… advance tickets but no seat reserved. Our guard mentioned something about no reservations on a Sunday. Unsure why!

Are Transpenine Express slowly but surely…improving?!

Had my first trip in the last few months today as I entrusted them to get me to Liverpool. Travelled from Redcar, changed in Leeds and dropped onto the one behind. All went perfectly, few minor delays due to a late running freight meant we crawled into Leeds which then knocked onto the ones...

    Stagecoach North East

Yes they are taking over that corridor, it’s to run from Stockton to Ingleby Barwick then onto Yarm (replacement for Arriva 17), and then Airport and onto Darlington & Hurworth (replacement for Arriva 12). Will be service 6/6a… although due to delays in getting it finalised there will be a 2...

    Megabus General Discussion

Usually someone local will attend with a loan coach and the service continues many hours late. Or if it’s fixable one of the local depots (Ecclesfield probably closest) will come out

    TfGM Bus franchising

Looking at Bustimes and going to the operators pages themselves the routes appear to be being registered… ASH is Ashcroft’s ATG is Atlantic Travel BEV is Belle Vue OLY is Olympia Travel GMS basing it on the 783 am is registered to Little Gem

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

The Wycombe locals are all reregistered with lower numbers, I too thought they were binning the lot until I did a bit more digging! Walkergate is due to close in September with services 43/44/45/47/553 running from Blyth and 51-55 abandoned.

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

I did wonder how much longer they would last on the single remaining town route… another win for Red Group there then! Interestingly it appears the Wycombe town network is all up for a reorganisation and the longer distance services just show timetable changes. Will be interesting to see what...

I’ve never seen a reverse horn button look like that… but struggling to think what else it could be!

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

They had the 20 which ran from the Airport to Middlesbrough and various extensions beyond there over the years. When that got binned they combined the lot as a ‘12’ all the way from Middlesbrough to Hurworth… I gather something similar is out for tender to start in September.

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

To be fair anything that is a Durham CC tender is included in the Explorer which covers the majority of Weardale’s operation and roughly half of Hodgsons too. The same applies in the north of the region with Nexus. I wish North Yorkshire were the same but sadly not.
