    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Where on earth did they get the 460 square miles from? It's 20 miles long so this suggests it's somehow serving an area 13 miles in each direction on either side of it, despite being a direct bus service with no variations.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Me neither (other than how the two football grounds effected the likely intrests of the staff at the nearby bus depots - Muller Road and Winterstoke Road). And the ground became an IKEA many years ago so it was always going to be a bit of a niche comment!

It was more about a vehicle with 'City Red' on the side running though the heart of Rovers old area. I think the Geminis were first painted in Jan 2021.

    Bus Service Improvement Plans (BSIPs)

It was always going to be the case that the government was only interested in the good PR from appearing to spend some money with any issues (missing out completely, not delivering etc) rapidly becoming the local authorities issue. 1649157671 I suspect that's the total for the whole period. To...

    That'll be popular in Eastville!

It's possible they still want the 20 to be open top but they cant risk it with the inability of the local authority to deal with the tree problem.

Printed publicity - still necessary in the era of digital technology?

An odd way to deal with tourists! The number of sightseeing buses suggests quite a few tourists have come to see London itself and not a hole in the ground! I'm sure most tourists could cope with having a map so they can work out for themselves a way of getting from A to B whilst also seeing...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

To be fair, if it had been available on the one last week, it could have been used to flood the engine compartment! (Before anybody points it out I realise water on oil fires usually does more harm than good!)

    ZEBRA Discussion

Areas where a government MP needs some good PR. Areas where the government needs a push at an upcoming local election. Areas where it'll fit in with any other recent government schemes (Levelling Up for instance). Areas where a government mayor needs some good PR. A token different area just to...

England National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS)

The Treasury only funded this for a few years, that's now long gone. The funding pain is felt by local authorities and operators both of which are required to go along with it wheras the pain if it was changed/stopped would be felt by the national governemnt so, given that it costs them nothing...

    West Country Independents

I looked at the 882 on Bustimes and thought it was suffering from it's usual problem with interpreting the data feed however looking on other sources confirmed that it was clearly designed by somebody with a grudge against the users!

Pulham appear to be ending various contracted services in April/May. As other services are continuing I assume it's just end of contract. https://www.pulhamscoaches.com/bus/

Stagecoach West - Fleet News & Discussion

Pulhams have deregistered some services (details on https://www.pulhamscoaches.com/bus/ however I wont copy the text here as it's not Stagecoach related), it now depends who gets the new contracts (assuming Gloucestershire are re-tendering them). The 882 is currently a few journeys a day so I...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

North Somerset (at least) are still tendering new services and Avon (except North Somerset) haven't announced that they're withdrawing their funding (partly because it's hard to justify their existance if they don't support services) so the answer is we continue with a larger funded network.

What happens when you forget to ‘tap off’ on a contactless bus journey?

1 or 3 are the most likely, the problem with tap on-tap off is that it assumes 100% compliance from everybody. 5 and 6 are certainly not viable.

    National Express Coaches Discussion

There was a consultation about moving coach stops to a random collection of places around London however, dispite how much TfL wanted to push the idea, passengers were not that keen and, I believe, the plan is to remain at Victoria now.

Key Publishing, Buses Event 2022, Sywell Aerodrome

Given that previous events have included shuttles from rail stations I'd suggest waiting until more details emerge, at worst finding if any companies local to you are taking exhibits.

    Showbus 50

Previous entrants have received an email stating that it will be the last (as some of the organisers have been involved with all of them!). However the 'Flyby' that is also happening this year is intended to continue.

Stagecoach West - Fleet News & Discussion

36737 is trundling around South Gloucestershire promoting the 'Vision' service. Somebody did say these were for Swindon to replace their older darts however maybe making Bristol Euro VI is more urgent.
