    Where has a 195 been?

I do recall about 4/5 years ago that 195s visited Hull a couple of times on test, from memory they did a couple Doncaster - Hull trips for that purpose (I cannot remember if they went via Selby or Goole though).

Trivia: Settlements with 30 Minutes or better Sunday service

    Resurrected Bus Company Names

Similarly Stagecoach East Midlands trades as Lincolnshire Road Car Company Limited. If my memory serves at one point (about 10 years ago) their buses had the head office address titled as "Stagecoach East Midlands", nowadays they just carry the Roadcar title.

    Railways lurching out of control?

For what it's worth I believe BR wanted to close the line from Goole to Gilberdyke around the time the Selby diversion was built - if a rail link over the Humber existed with Doncaster-Hull services diverting via Scunthorpe then that would've almost certainly happened. In regards to the Barton...

Do you leave your ticket “out” on the table?

I'll whip my ticket out if I physically hear and see someone nearby asking to see tickets (I usually keep them in my ticket wallet which stays in my pocket) - if they ask to see my railcard I open up the app on my phone. If not then I don't bother.

What’s your least favourite station in Hampshire to visit?

Worst station in Kingston-upon-Hull will be a challenge, I really can't think of an answer.

Different Guard Depot, Route and Traction cards

That seems to be the case, yes. Not surprising given there's what, 3 peak diagrams a day for them now?

Different Guard Depot, Route and Traction cards

Got some extra WMT information (friend of a friend is a guard there): Northampton Traction: 350 Northampton - London Euston Northampton - Birmingham New Street Rugby - Milton Keynes Central (avoiding Northampton) Rugby - Crewe Watford Junction Traction: 350 Northampton - London Euston...

    Old timetables

There are some Working Timetables on the Network Rail website - granted they only cover post-1994 (as far as I can tell) but there might still be something you want. Link here: https://history.networkrail.co.uk/uncategorized/SO_506bb63b-dadf-497e-901d-1673556bcffd

    2022 UK Local Elections

Labour's defeat here was (to me at least) mostly a result of local issues as opposed to anything to do with the national leadership. To put it simply, Labour-run Hull City Council were dire. Incompetent, seemingly uncaring and when pressed would refuse to take any responsibility for anything -...

A 1987 Rail Ranger - the "Lincoln (or Lincolnshire) Poacher"

Still exists (I did a couple a few years ago) and appears to be available for purchase. It's a rather restrictive ticket but I still managed to get a reasonable amount of use from it. Link: http://www.railrover.org/pages/lincolnshire-day-ranger.html

Being asked for money in the street

Recently I was asked if I had £4.80 for the bus to Grimsby. Quite a specific number I must say (I'm fairly sure Stagecoach charge a load more than that for a ticket to Grimsby but I digress). Simply said "sorry, no change on me". Worked quite well. The guy was reasonably polite afterwards to be...

Where’s the best place for Class 185s?

The route between Leeds and Carlisle does present some opportunities for 170s to get into second gear (Leeds - Skipton I'm fairly sure has stretches of 90, north of there it might be 70 as far as Settle Junction?) unlike the Harrogate Loop. Although I don't think there's enough units that work...

    TPE Seeking additional Bi-mode stock

Now they work more limited stop services around Hull I don't think they're as bad as they were when they first started on Northern, but there's still some issues (based on my own anecdotal evidence admittedly). I'd estimate at least one Scarborough-Sheffield diagram a day runs a 158 on it in its...

Trivia: Stations served more by other TOCs than the managing one

Hull - managed by TPE who run 1tph to/from the station. Northern run 6tph (in the pre-COVID TT) in comparison (ignoring the once daily LNER and various Hull Trains services).
