    Toilets on trains

Class 320/3s didn't have toilets when built in 1990. In 2011 they were retrofitted with them though.

    Glasgow-Ayr services

Will be interesting to find out the estimates of station usage for Ayr during this, compared to before it happened.

    Avanti West Coast Cancellations

They were, but I believe only on a set down/pick up only basis when the through diversions from Scotland happened in 2019 (ie pax could only use them between Manchester and London as I think they merged into the xx.55 services) Right now they're just passing the station though. I remember they...

    Avanti West Coast Cancellations

As the Pendolinos can't serve Manchester 13/14, I think the route via Bolton wouldn't be much beneficial apart from during diversions like this, even if you stopped at Bolton as you lose out on serving Wigan/Warrington. In the event of 13/14 being able to be used, the Scottish TPEs could be...

    Avanti West Coast Cancellations

No trains north of Preston today so not surprised about the lack of pax. Tomorrow might be different though.

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

Does anyone know what that carriage inter-connecting bendy thing is made of?

Avanti June First Weekend - Scotland trains

On Saturday the 1st and Sunday 2nd of June, most Edinburgh Avanti trains are VAR'd to start/terminate at Glasgow Central, meaning roughly 2tph Avanti from Glasgow as the usual services are also running...

Euston station toilets in a disgusting state

I disagree with charging for toilets unless there's a contactless card machine. I haven't touched a coin in years

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

And they have their own dedicated platforms at Glasgow (And Manchester/Liverpool). Whereas at Euston it can be anywhere from 1-7 and 12-16

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

If an Avanti train has plenty of time to turnaround, and the cleaning is done, then why not just open it up for boarding?

Poor boarding experience at Euston (11/03)

If it's the xx:53 Euston-Manchester trains then the turnaround time is usually booked at 40 minutes, as most of them are booked to form off the 1Mxx Glasgow-Euston via Trent Valley services which arrive into Euston at xx:13. The 09:53 through to 19:53 Euston-Manchester departures are all booked...

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

A quick glance at RTT shows the inbound train arriving at 12:33 (albeit arriving about 9L as it was meant to be 12:24) 13 minute turnaround yet it was announced at I assume 12:41 or 12:42 (4 mins before dep as stated above) as it left pretty much on time.

    Avanti West Coast Cancellations

Probably not long term when people slowly stop using the trains, or use them less frequently because of it.

Grand Union's proposed Stirling – Euston service now authorised by ORR

It should really use 803s like Lumo, London to Stirling is fully electrified. And they are the same length as voyagers I think

Grand Union's proposed Stirling – Euston service now authorised by ORR

Stations up to Inverness would probably benefit from the Stirling service, atleast more than the northeast of Scotland as Inverness trains from Edinburgh go via Stirling anyway, so you might aswell change there if travelling from the WCML side, rather than zig-zaging along the Carstairs curve...

Grand Union's proposed Stirling – Euston service now authorised by ORR

Whifflet also has better services than Coatbridge Central (eg the connection from the Carmyle Line) so it makes more sense to stop there, however Coatbridge Central is closer to the North Clyde line (eg Sunnyside) so that line loses out on a London connection by walking between Sunnyside and Central

Grand Union's proposed Stirling – Euston service now authorised by ORR

Where will the stock be stabled? Will they use Polmadie or Craigentinny or just stable them overnight in Stirling station? Likewise will they use Wembley for services starting in London?

    Tyndrum (Upper and Lower)

Wouldn't it be better to just run the West Highlander direct via Glasgow in that case as the split could happen at Carstairs, or maybe Crianlarich if it can handle it?

How the term "rail replacement bus" is viewed.

Some RRBs are quite luxurious for the routes they serve. The Argyle Line RRBs were coaches and I'm pretty sure one of them had tables.
