    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Just let them go over your head mate. Most of us do.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Is it me or is this thread (and several before it) in repeat mode? Going round in so many circles I'm getting travel sick again

    GEML delays near Ilford (28/03)

A large amount of scaffolding from an external site collapsed onto the OHL.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Rules me out trying Worcestershire Parkway on that day. Will have to take another route back to Norwich.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Very much doubt it. The government hasn't thought this one through which should come as no surprise to anyone.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

I love little quirks like that. Interesting to hear the differing ways each depot works.

    East Coast Timetable Dec 24

Yes that all went in 2007. It was several years later before Virgin merged the two routes we see today.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Yes some mainline & Southend services operate as driver managers are permitted to drive trains here. 1711610966 Those drivers who are sitting spare in the qualified link would usually do the odd parts of another drivers job to share things out a little and keep them refreshed on their routes...

    East Coast Timetable Dec 24

That route makes perfect sense as joins up to existing services plus adds some additional through opportunities.

    Nobody.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Sometimes the old ways are the best. Keeps it fair for all employees. Nothing has changed so it doesn't need altering.

    “Better than average” Wetherspoons

I know. Was being silly. Just couldn't imagine doing it although I suppose some don't have a choice.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

Depends on depot agreements/booking out procedures.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

We are extremely well organised on that front here and where throughout the pandemic. Training stopped for less than 6 weeks.

Why are XC allowed to continue?

They most certainly are. Only way that could’ve changed was when TPE planned the hourly Liverpool-Newcastle to be extended to Edinburgh. Now that’s all knocked on the head XC will stay as it is.

    June 2024 Timetable Change

When we get greens at Yes it’s been like this since the NXEA timetable change in 2004. 1711525914 We just get used to it with many of us poodling along at 70-80 rather than 90mph after Shenfield to save stopping.

Why are XC allowed to continue?

I’m afraid I totally disagree with both posts. Manchester deserves the through services and Leeds is a massive revenue generator on that route. There are more than enough direct Edinburgh to Doncaster services. As for air competition the main route would be Birmingham which has faster direct...

    June 2024 Timetable Change

Nice thing with Norwich up services is we don’t have to wait time at Stratford so can buzz off early. Frustrating though to then be thwarted outside Liverpool St waiting for the pesky Braintree to come out.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

No they don’t just sit around. They can only be used when all normal booking out procedures for the existing establishment of drivers have been exhausted. They would only be in that link a few weeks/months.
