New offer made to RMT by Rail Delivery Group

The station grade pay scale is a joke and is a pay cut for a lot of station staff. How is that a pay rise in any way? I honestly don’t mind having more to do in the station but to have my pay go from £32k to somewhere between 20 and 29k is not on.

    Bike and luggage storage

The railway really does need to get rid of tkeys asap. Only people who would be able to unlock and have access to non public areas of trains are rail staff.

Delay Repay Declined, two TOC's involved

London Bridge connection time is 10 minutes so they are correct as your journey did not leave the appropriate amount of time to change trains.

Rail industry preparing for national strikes

I’ve already voted yes. My reasoning is that I am insanely feeling the rising cost of everything, I’m getting sent emails every week about the companies revenue and that the company is making money. This would not be achieved without the work force. Also the directors and some management...

    Scotrail, Abellio and April

Exactly. Don’t know why Edinburgh isn’t like Glasgow in using trains to get around. Taking the train from Slateford, Wester Hailes or Curriehill is a lot quicker to town than the bus. Same with South Gyle, Newcraighall and Brunstane. Should be trying to get people onto these services but they...

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Managed to get it sorted after watching a YouTube video thank you. There is absolutely no need for that form to be complicated haha.

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

I’m so confused with the UK passenger locator form. It makes absolutely no sense. It says I need to provide details from where I’ve been for the past ten days but I’ve only been in The Netherlands for three days…. Can’t continue the form cause it won’t accept my depart date. The Dutch one took...

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Arrived in Amsterdam today. At the border the guard didn’t want to see any of my documentary’s (vaccine proof, health deceleration and negative test). They just stamped the passport and that was it. Here in Amsterdam it feels like life in normal. No one is wearing masks outside, in shops. Only...

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Hope so! Heading there late next month. Thankfully can do a lateral flow so that’s not so bad, but still annoying.

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Oh wow that contradicts the retail brief I was shown.

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Haymarket to Waverley only. Not the other direction. I think on ScotRail only too.

LNER to resume full pre-virus timetable from 14th February. Will other operators follow suit?

Hopefully ScotRail get their act together. Don’t think they will, but service levels in Scotland are shocking.

Can platform staff hold a train (within reason)?

How long do you want between trains? Should every train connect with every train? That’s impossible. In every timetable there will be winners and losers.

Can platform staff hold a train (within reason)?

As a train dispatcher unless I am authorised to I cannot hold a train. What I do is in the evenings when my company’s trains are running late and will miss last connections to somewhere on another company, I will phone the guard on my trains and find out how many passengers there are that have...

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Just tied using the Dutch Covid vaccine QR code scanning app. It works on my NHS Scotland QR code! Getting the green tick now. Yesterday it didn't work.

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Amazing news! Although I just applied for an EU one through the French government last night, I guess that’s just my luck haha. Going to the Netherlands in December. Glad my NHS one will be accepted!

Easing of Coronavirus restrictions in Scotland

So much easier to get a covid passport on the Irish covid app. Just scan your second dose QR code from the pdf off the website and it’ll come up with your details. I tried the Scottish app and it’s awful, just didn’t work for me at all

First class travel for wheelchair users?

185s are awful. Your segregated in your own little compartment with nothing but flip down seats. Not great for a w/c user if they’re travelling with someone else.
