TRIVIA: Examples of train refurbishments (past or present) that were a step up from the same train's previous interior

Definitely agree with the WAGN 317/6 scheme which was to make them more like 365s. Much nicer inside, smart outside and really lifted the experience, the same units had looked and felt second class when 365s had arrived, but not after this work.

5 car Turbo, Berks and Hants 17 March

Not something that I've seen through here for a very long time, looks like the last stopper on the Newbury-Bedwyn shuttle (2car) failed in Bedwyn Reversing siding and was rescued this morning by a 3car, unfortunately cancelling a passenger path Bedwyn-Reading to do so. Failed unit 165125...

Horrendous Hull Trains East Coast ride

The down Berks and Hants just round from Midgham gives a far worse ride on a through/fast 387 than on an IET, which has confused me for some time, there are now 3 violentish jolts there over a half mile that don't happen to IETs.

I will try and commit to memory

    Disruption Southcote Junction/Reading West 13/3/24

Things moving again, both lines of West curve (S-W) taken up with containers but no locos on South end which looks odd, a DB 66 as 0Z99 is sat in Reading West and what I presume was 1Z99 (66593) is light on line near depot.

    Disruption Southcote Junction/Reading West 13/3/24

Believe freight has failed across the junction, a 1Z99 was showing (can't now see) and also freights queuing on Reading West curve and the 'new' curve from high number Reading platforms to Reading West. Currently stuck so wondered if anyone knew any more (and where the 1Z99 was scrambled from)

    Landslip in Sonning Cutting

Agree it was fairly grim, just to note here for the archive, 1C22 1655 Reading to Taunton (usually 1630 from Paddington) left Reading heading *East* with announcements on platform to warn people, it then headed into the Kennet loop, reversed and came back through the station at speed. Not sure...

    Most unreliable service ex London.

Yesterday and today, 1C89 has been formed 1x9 instead of 2x5 and has been fairly punctual as a result..credit if something has been changed from this user

    Most unreliable service ex London.

That gets my vote as a frequent user who can't get an earlier one but is an hour later home if this is 10 late
