GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Think he means until it's ready to operate trains on the mainline under it's own power. Presumably its still to have UK safety systems fitted etc

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Well aware of that. Hence why I added 'dragged' for both runs

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

It already made its first mainline run when it was dragged from Eastleigh, today was the same, as it was dragged to Longport today..

Substantial gap in new train deliveries

And that's exactly the problem with the UK system... feast and famine. Instead of things being ordered in a staggered fashion rather than all in one go 1708791758 I'm well aware that's how the UK system has worked for many years now. Simply making the point.

Substantial gap in new train deliveries

There are areas stock has been required for years and the DfT has steadfastly refused to LET the TOCs order stock. Instead we're now in a situation where any planned orders are all going to be placed around the same time, for delivery in the same time window. No TOCs/DfT is not responsible for...

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

GBRf have had numerous new flows start running in the last few weeks... and with the first of the recent imports has still not entered service, the continuing need for 66 to pilot the sleepers, and the snow & ice trains running on the southern... They just don't seem to have the traction to...

    Non-Caledonian Sleeper GBRf Class 92s

032 and 044 lack the dellner couplers, but I believe 032 has had its ETH upto the mk5 level, same as the rest of the sleeper modded 92s

Which train type will you miss the least when they are all withdrawn?

Quite sure this'll p*ss someone off... but for me has to be any and all class 37s. Horrible to look at, and sound like you expect someone to after they've had a tin of beans

    Oldest livery still in service?

Nome of the 325s are in their original livery, having all been repainted over the last 5 to 7 years by DB

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Given most of the recent focus will have been on modifications to the already released 69s, finishing 009 would have been of far less importance. I'd imagine now all the finished 69s have flown the coop, attention will be turned back to 009 and Co... 009 still need a test run before the subject...

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Think 002 and 005 moved south, then over to Bescot. So no other 69s up north needing replaced

    Southern Class 313 withdrawal/storage/scrapping updates

nope. they changed the designation to the NR ECTS testbed as it retains several 'as built' features, which its southern refurbed sisters no longer have

    Class 73/0 vs 73/1

73/0s could heat stock on diesel. 73/1s can only do it on electric. 0/ and /1s can/could multi with each other, 33s, most southern mk1 stock and (the then) class 442
