    1712344963 Just had first journey on 8 car 777 on Ormskirk line, should have been 18.59 Orrell Park to Ormskirk. Didn’t arrive to around 19.20 due to a welfare incident at Kirkdale. 049 was the lead but didn’t manage to identify the rear 4 coach unit.

    There was an eight car working on Ormskirk line on Tuesday afternoon. Would have been the 1545 from Central. I was on the 1604 from Old Roan heading to town and it was at Aintree running 4 late to Ormskirk

    Could the problems be that these trains were originally supposed to be run without guards and be driver controlled, then the change to having a guard/driver despatch might be causing some of the issues we are seeing on a daily basis.

    Just travelled on 1659 Orrell Park to Ormskirk, first time I have heard the message for passengers to stand clear of the doors as we were leaving the station and heading towards Aintree. Is this something new and what if the train is heavy loaded?

    Just travelled on 1901 Central to Ormskirk, left Central 11 late, arrived Orrel Park 13 late where we boarded, overheard guyn in Merseyrail garb talking to Guard, saying this was second time recently he had been called out after interference with doors. Whether that’s true or not nobody knows.

    There was always at least two six car trains on the Ormskirk at the tea time peak until the introduction of the 777. They normally ran right through till when the service went half hourly.

    Merseyrail have just announced that the toilets in Central station will be closed for 12 weeks for refurbishment. No temporary facilities will be provided. Bit much for such a busy station and trains that run from there do not have any on board loos.

    Sunday service, obviously causing this. Contacted Merseyrail many years ago about poor service regarding evening games at Anfield and large crowds trying to board services northbound after games at Kirkdale never get a reply, things haven’t changed much.
