    WMT Driver Pool - 2021/22

Thats unusual, the Snow Hill guys were informed that they would do them later for the reasons I stated. Could be a case of being told whatever pops into someones head and is convenient at the time I suppose!

    WMT Driver Pool - 2021/22

Tyseley isn't used for Slow speed moves, there was a serious incident once and it is a big busy depot, they don't like people moving stuff around there unless its completely necessary. Im at Worcester and trained with guys who will be based at Snow Hill, we did our slow speed moves whereas the...

    WMT Driver Pool - 2021/22

In my case WMT didn't know that I had passed assesments and booked me in at Watford, I booked a hotel and only after I managed to contact them by email did they confirm that I didn't need to go! Unfortunately I didnt need the room so wasted fifty quid so I'd advise you to get in touch and get...

How many applications and interviews until you cracked it?

I applied to about ten tocs and network rail. After 2 years I got a job, really enjoying training at the moment. Some applications got lost, some were rejected in unusual circumstances, for example I applied for GWR and did their SJT, passed and got in a Talent Pool. Applied to SWR, same SJT...

    WMT New Driver Training

I mean that while you are at snow hill, at the training center, you will be asked if you need to park at Worcester and given a form to fill in which will get faxed to worcester. You can use your staff pass that gets you into the training center to get you on the car park but there is also a pass...

    WMT New Driver Training

Your trainer at snow hill can get a form for you, he/she will sort it out. You shouldn't worry too much about it, most arrangements will be done without you asking.

    WMT New Driver Training

I didn't have a problem getting a arling permit for Worcester but nobody based at snow hill got one, suppose it depends on your local depot.

    WMT New Driver Training

Currently I'm at snow hill for a course. On your first day of ITO you'll be told about uniform, asked to bring a big bag or suitcase on the day it is available to pick up. You will be able to obtain a parking permit for your depot before front end turns, at least our trainer had us all fill out...

    Professional Driving Policy

Just to clarify, as I posted a bit early, my TOC has a 60-40-20 policy and policy is 15mph as recommended on approach to the signal at 200 metres. A trainer had mentioned tpws when I think he meant aws, easy mistake I guess with so many acronyms.

    Professional Driving Policy

Yes it is the ARB and you'll have to forgive me if I'm coming across a bit vague, I'm in the early days of ops training so I haven't put these rules into practice yet.

    Professional Driving Policy

The company I work for have a policy of 15 mph over a TPWS grid on approach to a signal at Danger and have there own variation to the rule book. Most of it is just to enhance safety and from what I can tell, provided you are following the rule book its not enough to get you the sack if you...

How many applications and interviews until you cracked it?

Good on you mate, nice to see that perseverance pays dividends. Were you at the assessments in crewe when I was?

How many applications and interviews until you cracked it?

I was a bus driver and heard through colleagues about opportunities with train companies. Looking into the industry more I realised that there were a lot of parallels between my job and the railway. I applied for Freightliner in 2018, passed stage 1 assessments to National standard which halted...

Failed Tea-Occ & MMI. Is it the end of a driving career?

My subjective analysis of the MMI was that they will deliberately act in a way to see how you react. I could be biased though as I passed.

Does anyone know what grade first group accept on psychometrics

For GWR its National standard. Avanti is Enhanced but don't know about SWR or TPE.

    Abellio Online Assesment

Thanks Bo. I'm going to be based at Worcester. I'm hoping there won't be any delay, I'm ready and raring to go but May 2021 is the provisional start date. WMT needed me to retake the DFFT and the glop and dials but it was fine, less pressure when you only have a few tests to focus on. Good luck

    Abellio Online Assesment

Thanks, Im still in a bit of disbelief, Im not going to feel quite so sure of it until Im sat in a training room! My honest advice to you is think about what the questions are asking, draw from your personal experiences and emphasise why you think they are relevant and what makes you right for...
