What do you mean by "half as much again as a Sprinter uses"? Each vehicle of the 2-car 230 had 2 engines that were the equivalent of a 6.4-litre twin-turbo 10 cylinder engine for 400hp, whereas each vehicle of a Sprinter has a 14-litre single-turbo 6 cylinder engine for 285hp.

Do you or anyone know where the BSI couplers were sourced from? I'm interested to know, because of them apparently being difficult to get hold of.

It had 34 transmitters and none of them were in Wales (for some reason). Does anyone know how far into Wales it could be received clearly? (This can include at night, big aerials, etc. but please specify if so)

197 driver training will have to take place on the Cambrian in the next ~6 months before 197s can enter service on the Cambrian in the next ~6 months. There hasn't even been much testing to my knowledge - 197003 was dragged to Machynlleth in late May 2022, then it went to Aberystwyth one night...

I looked at the Aberystwyth-Birmingham International and Machynlleth-Pwllheli timetables and it looks like 197s. So sometime in the next 9 months or so, there will be 197 driver training on the Cambrian then? I have no idea what's been happening with 197s on the Cambrian for the last 6 months...

Could the fact that the 180s are 125mph units whereas the 185s are 100mph units make a difference? I would've thought it would just be a different final drive ratio, but maybe I'm missing something?

Interesting, I wonder if the 197s have larger capacity air suspension, like Sprinters, 175s, 170s etc.

Indeed, no 3-coach 231s. The 35x TfW FLIRTs: 11x 4-coach 231s, 7x 3-coach 756s and 17x 4-coach 756s.

Also, how many of the 77 197s exist (have been built) so far?
