    Grand Central stranding passengers (28/03)?

Not from York, but rear coaches of a Leeds job during the day and not unusual at all. I might keep a spreadsheet of how many people are in the carriage over the next couple of months. I'll post it both here and also in "Dull Mens Club".

    Grand Central stranding passengers (28/03)?

Normally either Bradford Interchange or York through to London or vice versa

    Grand Central stranding passengers (28/03)?

I travel on GC regularly and I'm never on a quiet train, even from Bradford the loadings always look healthy. By contrast, I travel on LNER at least weekly and am regularly the only person in the carriage even upon arrival at Kings Cross during the day. 1713467488 As an OAO there is no...

Once a train driver can you relocate?

No, the offered me a job but with the long notice period required by most companies these days just made it a conditional offer on me giving them a new address before I start. Considering the commute from my old address is 5 hours each way, I don't think they were overly concerned!

Once a train driver can you relocate?

Yes. Where I was living when I applied for my current job was about a 5 hour commute each way! In this case it was obvious I was going to have to move, however I do know of cases at other TOCs where people said they would move and then didn't, resulting in those companies no longer...

Once a train driver can you relocate?

My current TOC accepted relocation but my offer letter stated I needed to provide a suitable address before my start date

    Prescription sunglasses for Drivers

Mine have been certified OK. The company gave me the paperwork to go and get signed by the option. From memory there are two requirements to meet. One is for the frames and is standard so they don't melt in sunlight, the other for the shading of the lenses and my option (also Specsavers) told...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

Right, my mistake! I only ever worked with MK3 stock and thought one of WCRC's arguments was about vac brake locos. Really is no excuse then...

I posted the facts regarding prices and dates earlier in this thread and you ignored my post completely.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I thought that was the standard CDL in use across the industry. Maybe I'm wrong. 1711994355 Agreed. If WCRC don't continue then someone else will step in. It might not make as much as a dining outing but it's a large chunk of income, otherwise they wouldn't bother.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

As far as I know, the bolts are air operated and a compressor is needed.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I'm sure they would find new homes elsewhere - on or off of the mainline. But I don't see it coming to that. To repeat what I said some pages ago - the normal tourists don't know or care about the differences between a mk1, 2 or 3. If it's got doors that swing open and are in a retro livery...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

The vast majority of rail industry professionals completely agree with you.

    LT Museum, Covent Garden

If it was after 20 October 2010 then the ticket you got last time was also valid for a year. It was combined with a planned price increase from £10 to £13.50 that was going to happen anyway.

    Ealing Broadway Validators

There used to be, Stratford used to have them too. They were misused a lot by people short faring and I know a while back MTR wanted to remove them, making everyone go out and come back in again. I don't know if they carried this out in the end or if it's the same situation at Ealing Broadway...

Potential up to 2,000 job losses at Alstom Derby

A discount was given because the spec was almost identical and it would use the same production line as the GA units. There were later modifications made to the spec however it was still part of the same production.
